Supported Applications

The Omega HH806 series comprises portable digital thermometers with wireless multilogger capabilities designed for industrial temperature measurement and data logging. The device measures external thermocouples of types K, J, R, S, T, E, and N, complying with the N.I.S.T. - ITS 90 standard reference tables.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The HH806 series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0°C to 50°C (32°F to 122°F) at less than 70% or 80% R.H., depending on the specific model documentation. Storage conditions are specified as -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F). The instrument features a reading rate of 2.5 times per second and input protection rated for 24V dc or 24V ac rms maximum.

Measurement ranges vary by thermocouple type:

 • Type K: -200°C to 1372°C (-328°F to 2501°F)
 • Type J: -210°C to 1200°C (-346°F to 2192°F)
 • Type T: -200°C to 400°C (-328°F to 752°F)
 • Type E: -210°C to 1000°C (-346°F to 1832°F) or -220°C to 1000°C
 • Type R and S: 0°C to 1767°C (32°F to 3212°F)
 • Type N: -50°C to 1300°C (-58°F to 2372°F)

Accuracy specifications are defined as follows:

 • K/J/T/E-TYPE: ±(0.05% rdg + 0.3°C) on -50°C to 1372°C; ±(0.05% rdg + 0.7°C) on -50°C to -210°C
 • N-TYPE: ±(0.05% rdg + 0.8°C) on -50°C to 0°C; ±(0.05% rdg + 0.4°C) on 0°C to 1300°C
 • R/S-TYPE: ±(0.05% rdg + 2°C) on 0°C to 1767°C

Resolution is 0.1° for K, J, T, E, and N types; 1° for R and S types.

Configuration Options

The series supports dual thermocouple inputs with an adjustable T/C offset. Data logging capacity varies by model configuration:

 • HH806W: Stores up to 128 samples on demand and 1,024 in logging mode.
 • HH806AU and HH806AW: Store up to 256 samples on demand and 16,000 in logging mode.

The device features a triple display configuration with two 4½ digit displays for T1 or T2 and a third 6-digit display for T1-T2 differential or current date/time. Wireless models (HH806W) operate on the 910–920MHz frequency band, while European versions (HH806WE) utilize 868.1–868.5MHz. The wireless transmitting distance can reach 25M without magnetic interference.

Power is supplied by four 1.5V AAA batteries with a typical life of 120 hours using carbon zinc batteries. USB models (HH806AU, HH806AW) include an optional AC adaptor and DC power jack. The unit dimensions are 160mm(H) x 83mm(W) x 38mm(D).

Key Product Differences

The series includes distinct model configurations based on interface capabilities:

 • HH806W / HH806WE: Wireless models featuring data transmission via 910–920MHz (USA) or 868.1–868.5MHz (Europe). These units do not include a built-in USB port.
 • HH806AU / HH806AW: Models equipped with a built-in USB port and DC power jack for direct computer connectivity or AC operation via the optional adaptor.

The HH806AW model is supplied complete with an NIST certificate (no points), 4 AAA batteries, Type K thermocouples (one per channel), rubber boot, operator's manual, USB cable, wireless receiver, and AC adaptor. Accessories include the SC-800 soft case with belt loop, Windows software packages (HH800-SW for USB models; HH800W-RSW or HH800WE-RSW for wireless models), and a free 1 meter Type K insulated beaded wire thermocouple.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chemist: I don't recommend this product. The logger is very difficult to use, and the instructions are very poorly written. I loaded the software for the wireless data collection, and upon rebooting the PC as instructed, my computer crashed. It was so bad that I had to conduct a restore on the PC. It is unfortunate. The logger itself seems to be ruggedly constructed and of good quality - just can't use it as intended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Can be used to display temperature right out of the box if that is all you want it for. The instruction sheet for use as a datalogger is much easier to understand if you are operating the instrument while reading.

Can you download data from the logger while it is still recording temperatures or can the data download with the HH800-SW software only happen while the datalogger is in an idle mode (turned on but not recording temps)?

Asked by: mtwar
Thank you for the inquiry. Meter must be in idle mode in order to begin data download steps. Best regards OMEGA

Is the software that goes with the HH800 series for USB data logging compatible with with a Windows 10 operating system? The data sheet only mentions Windows 2000 and XP.

Asked by: Dust117
Hello, per the data sheet, the HH800-SW and the HH800W-RSW both allow real-time data logging to a PC. For wireless enable meters HH800W-RSW comes with both the software and wireless receiver, while for meters with USB, HH800-SW comes with the software and a USB cable. Both versions of software (compatible with Windows® 10) are identical and can work interchangeably. Please contact our Tech Support if we can be of any further assistance. Thank you.

1) What is the sampling rate? Is the sampling rate adjustable, and if so, to what values? 2) For the HH806AU model, is the only way to upload data to a PC is using the software that you sell for windows?

Asked by: RM500
The measurement interval is settable from 1 second to 23 Hrs 59 Minutes and 59 Seconds. The meters sampling rate is 2.5 times per second and fixed. The separately sold Software HH800-SW is the only way data can be uploaded.
