Supported Applications

The Omega GCHCIS Series is a Small Capacity/Low Flow Gas Circulation Heater designed to efficiently heat gases at low-flow rates and relatively high temperatures. The series features a cartridge heater design with a stainless steel pipe body, specifically engineered for gas media applications.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The GCHCIS Series supports outlet temperatures up to 600°F. Power supply options include 120 and 240V Single Phase configurations. The heating elements utilize an INCOLOY® sheath with a watt density of 37 W/in². Process connections are provided via 3/4 - 14 NPT Inlet and Outlet (Internal Threads). Internal overtemperature protection is implemented using a Type K T/C, while process temperature sensing in the outlet utilizes a Type J T/C.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable power ratings ranging from 0.5 kW to 3 kW across various model numbers. Key selection parameters include:

• Power Ratings (Watts): Available in 500 W, 1,000 W, 2,000 W, and 3,000 W configurations.
• Voltage & Phase: Configurable for 120V or 240V Single-Phase operation (Ckt & Phase: 1-1).
• Terminal Enclosure Options: E1 General Purpose or E2 Moisture Resistant/Explosion Resistant.
• Housing Material: Stainless Steel (304) vessel with INCOLOY® sheath elements.

Dimensions vary by power rating, with overall length (Dimension A) ranging from 14 to 44 inches and width/height (Dimension B) ranging from 8 to 38 inches. Special voltage and wattage ratings are available upon consultation. Electronic controls for remote mounting must be ordered separately.

Key Product Differences

The GCHCIS model number structure defines the specific configuration: GCHCIS - <Number of Elements> - <Watts> - <Terminal Enclosure>. The series is standardized to one element (Code 01). Wattage codes correspond directly to output power:

• OP50: 500 W
• 001P: 1,000 W
• 002P: 2,000 W
• 003P: 3,000 W

The terminal enclosure code determines the environmental rating of the electrical connection point. Models ending in /120 or /240 denote the specific voltage supply required for that variant.
