The Omega FTP series comprises Flow Through Thermocouple Sensor Assemblies designed for temperature measurement in uncontaminated fluids. These probes are engineered to fit within 1/4 inch tubes, enabling direct sensing of fluid flow conditions.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The sensor elements meet or exceed Special Limit of Error (SLE) and EN 60584-2 standards with Tolerance Class 1 accuracy. The series utilizes Type J, K, T, or E thermocouple types depending on the specific model configuration selected.

Configuration Options

The FTP series is configurable across sensor types, connector styles, and lead lengths. The standard flow-through probe configuration features a stem length of 51 mm (2") with an overall diameter of 6 mm (¼"). Process connection is provided via a ¼ NPT SS fitting.

The series supports multiple integral connector types to suit different instrumentation interfaces:

  • SMPW connectors
  • Miniature connectors
  • M8 straight plug (add "M8-S-M")
  • M12 straight plug (add "M12-S-M")
  • M8 right-angled plug (add "M8-R-M")
  • M12 right-angled plug (note: source lists add "M12-S-M" for this option)

Model Number Configuration

The model number structure follows the pattern FTP-(*)-2-SMP-M, where:

  • (*) = Thermocouple type (J, K, T, E)
  • 2 = 2 inches stem length
  • SMP-M = SMP connector, male

Additional Configurations

Beyond the standard flow-through probe, the series documentation references related special purpose probes including:

  • Dual thermocouple ¼NPT (TC-(*)-NPT-G-36-DUAL-SMPW-M)
  • Dual RTD ¼NPT with lead lengths such as 72 inches (1829 mm) and curves E for 0.00385 or A for 0.00392
  • Solder iron measuring module (STS-2X)

All listed flow-through probes share a 51 mm (2") stem length and utilize the SMP male connector as the base configuration. Variations in connector geometry are achieved by appending specific suffix codes to the model number.
