Are these thermocouples made of operation at high temp and high vacuum simultaneously? I operate an accelerator beam line and we are having issues with sublimation of thermocouple wires in high vacuum.

Asked by: Cecchini
Hi Cecchini, Thank you for the inquiry. Type K has limited use in vacuum/reducing environments. Type N will give better performance. Best regards OMEGA

Hello, I would like to measure the cooling rate of a casting (the thermocouple will be in contact with the molten material and will be keep it there during the solidification process). Could you recommend a thermocouple to perform this task?

Asked by: Luis10
You may be able to use a sheathed Thermocouple rated in temperature above the melting point of your casting material. Ideally using non-contact IR sensors would be the best approach Omega would suggest. Send an email to temp@dwyeromega.com to have questions answered regarding your application.
