Supported Applications

The Omega OMEGAFLEX™ Silicone Tubing – Peroxide Cured (Series TYSC) is designed for use with many peristaltic pumps. The tubing is constructed from silicone made with FDA-approved ingredients.

Operating Conditions & Performance

This series operates across a temperature range of -73 to 177°C (-100 to 350°F). Material properties include a Hardness, Shore A of ± 50 and Specific Gravity of 1.14. Mechanical performance specifications list Tensile Strength at 1100 psi and Elongation at Break at 375%. The Brittle Temperature is rated at -73°C (-100°F), with a Maximum Operating Temperature of 177°C (350°F).

Pressure ratings vary by model. Working pressure @ 70°F ranges from 5 to 25 psi, while Burst pressure @ 70°F ranges from 15 to 75 psi.

Configuration Options

The TYSC series is available in multiple configurations defined by outer diameter (OD), inner diameter (ID), wall thickness, and length. Standard lengths include 100 feet for most models and 50 feet for larger diameters such as the 1-inch OD variants.

• Dimensions: Models cover a range of sizes including 1/8 inch to 1 1/8 inch OD, with corresponding ID and wall thickness variations (e.g., TYSC-14316-100 features 1/4" OD x 3/16" ID).
• Material: Wetted material is Silicone.
• Certifications: Ingredients are FDA Approved. RoHS compliance varies by individual model number (visit omega.com/rohs for details).
• Special Options: Polyester Braid Reinforced Silicone tubing is available; contact Sales for availability.

The ordering format follows the pattern TYSC--, where the middle segment encodes dimensions (e.g., 1418 denotes 1/4" OD x 1/8" ID) and the final segment indicates length in feet.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series differ primarily by dimensional specifications, which directly influence pressure ratings. For example:

• TYSC-14316-100: 1/4" OD x 3/16" ID with a Working psi @ 70°F of 5 and Burst psi @ 70°F of 15.
• TYSC-51618-100: 5/16" OD x 1/8" ID with a Working psi @ 70°F of 25 and Burst psi @ 70°F of 75.

Larger diameter models, such as TYSC-134-50 (1" OD) and TYSC-11834-50 (1 1/8" OD), are supplied in 50-foot lengths. Smaller diameters generally ship in 100-foot coils.
