The OMEGAFLEX™ Santoprene Flexible Rubber Tubing (TYSP Series) is a line of thermoplastic rubber tubing designed for fluid transfer and process connections. The series overview explicitly states the tubing is suitable for peristaltic pumps.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The TYSP series operates within a temperature range of -59 to 135°C (-75 to 275°F). Constructed from Santoprene thermoplastic rubber, the tubing resists fatigue, ozone, and ultraviolet radiation. The material exhibits a specific gravity of 0.97.

Performance characteristics vary by hardness grade as documented in the specifications:

• Tensile Strength (PSI): TYSP5: 640; TYSP6: 950; TYSP7: 1100.
• Elongation at Break (%): TYSP5: 330; TYSP6: 400; TYSP7: 410.
• Heat Distortion Temp: 135°C (275°F).
• Low Temperature Limit: Rated for service down to -59°C (-75°F).

Configuration Options

The series offers three Shore A hardness options: 55A (TYSP5), 64A (TYSP6), and 73A (TYSP7). Tubing is available in two color/material configurations:

• Regular Black Tubing: Standard Santoprene formulation.
• FDA Approved Tan Tubing: Identified by the "F" suffix in model numbers, this variant meets FDA approval requirements for specific applications.

The series supports a wide range of dimensional configurations. Model numbering follows the format TYSP(*)-<Hardness Code>-<Model Number>, where the hardness code is 5 (for 55A), 6 (for 64A), or 7 (for 73A). The "F" suffix denotes FDA-approved tan tubing. Standard spool length for listed models is 50 feet.

Available dimensions span various Outer Diameter (OD) and Inner Diameter (ID) combinations, including:

• Small Bore: ODs from 1/8" to 3/4", with IDs ranging from 1/16" to 5/8".
• Larger Bore: Models extend up to 1" OD (e.g., TYSP(*)-138-50).

Certifications include RoHS compliance by individual model number and FDA approval for tan tubing variants. Field testing is required to determine actual operating specifications in a given application.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the TYSP series are distinguished primarily by hardness, color/approval status, and dimensional geometry (OD/ID/Wall thickness).

• Hardness Codes: The first digit following the prefix indicates durometer: 5 for 55A, 6 for 64A, and 7 for 73A.
• FDA Approval Indicator: Models with an "F" suffix (e.g., TYSP6F-1214-50) represent the tan FDA-approved tubing. Non-suffixed models are regular black tubing.
• Dimensional Availability by Hardness: Not all dimensions are available in every hardness grade or color variant. For example, the 1/8" OD size is available in 55A and 64A for FDA-approved tan tubing (TYSP(*)F-18116-50), while specific larger diameters like 9/16" ID are restricted to certain hardness levels.
