Supported Applications

The Omega Omegaflex® Multi-Colored Ribbon Polyurethane Tubing (MCRPT Series) is a bonded ribbon of polyurethane tubing designed for the faster installation of multiple lines. By integrating color-coded identification, the series facilitates process line tracing and troubleshooting while eliminating the need for additional jacketing or bundling materials.

The material offers chemical resistance to water, fuel, oil, and fungus. The tubing is described as kink and abrasion resistant with outstanding flexibility and memory.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Performance specifications for the MCRPT Series are defined by a temperature range of -40 to 73°C (-40 to 165°F). The series supports a vacuum rating up to 28" Hg. Working pressure ratings vary by tube outer diameter (OD) and configuration, with a documented safety factor of 3:1.

Specific working pressures at 24°C (75°F) include:

  • 0.125 in OD tubing: 255 psi
  • 0.156 in OD tubing: 210 psi
  • 0.250 in OD tubing (2-tube): 265 psi
  • 0.250 in OD tubing (4-tube): 175 psi

The wetted material is polyurethane with a hardness of 95A Shore durometer.

Configuration Options

The MCRPT Series is configurable by number of tubes, tube dimensions (OD and ID), wall thickness, coil length, and color coding. The model numbering follows the format: MCRPT-<NUMBER OF TUBES>-<TUBE OD>-<COIL LENGTH>.

Tube Configurations

The series is available in 2-tube or 4-tube ribbon configurations. Color options depend on the number of tubes:

  • 2 Tubes: Red, blue
  • 4 Tubes: Red, blue, white and clear

Dimensions and Sizes

The series supports three tube outer diameters with corresponding inner diameters (ID) and wall thicknesses. All sizes carry a tube diameter tolerance of ±0.005 in.

  • 1/8" OD: 0.125 in OD, 0.066 in ID, 0.030 in wall
  • 5/32" OD: 0.156 in OD, 0.094 in ID, 0.031 in wall
  • 1/4" OD: 0.250 in OD, 0.160 in ID, 0.045 in wall

Coil Lengths and Weights

Tubing is supplied in coils of two lengths: 15 m (50 ft) or 30 m (100 ft). Weight varies by configuration, ranging from approximately 200 g (0.44 lbs) for a single-tube equivalent short coil to over 3 kg (7+ lbs) for larger diameter multi-tube long coils.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the MCRPT Series differ primarily by tube count, outer diameter, and coil length. The working pressure rating is not uniform across all variants; it decreases as the number of tubes increases for a given OD (e.g., 0.250 in OD tubing has a working pressure of 265 psi for 2-tube configurations versus 175 psi for 4-tube configurations).

Model examples include MCRPT-2-18066-100 (30 m coil, 2 tubes, 1/8" OD) and MCRPT-4-532332-50 (15 m coil, 4 tubes, 5/32" OD).
