Supported Applications
The OMEGAFLEX® CHEMICAL TUBING, FEP Formulation, TYTF Series is engineered for fluid-transfer and chemical-handling applications where broad chemical compatibility and optical clarity are essential. Because FEP is clear in color, the tubing is well suited to processes that require continuous visual inspection of the media flowing through the line, allowing operators to confirm flow, detect discoloration, or watch for bubbles and particulates without breaking into the system.
FEP tubing is very similar to PFA tubing in flexibility and appearance, making the TYTF Series a practical choice for laboratory, instrumentation, and process-fluid routing where a flexible, transparent, chemically resistant line is preferred. Its ability to be extruded in very long, continuous lengths supports long uninterrupted runs, and because FEP packages have no splices, the tubing delivers consistent, contamination-free routing across the full length of each roll.
The FEP formulation can be heat sealed and heat bonded, giving fabricators flexibility when creating custom assemblies, sealed segments, or joined sections for specialized handling tasks.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The defining characteristic of the TYTF Series is its wide service temperature range of -73 to 204°C (-100 to 400°F). This is the major difference between FEP and the otherwise comparable PFA tubing, and it makes the series appropriate for both chilled and elevated-temperature media within that envelope.
Pressure performance is rated in psi @ 73°F and varies by model according to wall thickness and diameter. At the high end, the thick-wall TYTF-332132-100 is rated to 400 psi, while thinner-wall or larger-bore configurations carry progressively lower ratings, down to about 100 psi on the lower-rated models. Selecting the correct model therefore means matching both the diameter and the wall thickness to the intended working pressure.
Additional documented material properties include a Hardness of 56 (Shore D), a Specific Gravity of 2.15, a Tensile Strength of 3400 psi, and an Elongation at Break of 325%. The Brittle Temperature is documented at <-170°C, reflecting the material's toughness at extreme cold.
Specifications shown are typical and are meant only as a guide. Field testing is recommended to find the actual values in the given application.
Configuration Options
All TYTF models share the same FEP wetted material and the same -73 to 204°C (-100 to 400°F) service temperature range; the models differ primarily in dimensions and the resulting pressure rating.
The series follows the model-number format TYTF-<OD>-<Length>. For example, TYTF-1418-50 denotes 50 feet of tubing with a 0.063" wall, ¼" OD, and ⅛" ID. Wall thicknesses in the lineup include the heavier 0.063" wall and the thinner 0.03 wall, which together with the bore size determine each model's rated pressure at 73°F.
- Smaller bores and thicker walls carry the highest pressure ratings — for instance TYTF-332132-100 reaches 400 psi.
- Larger bores and thinner walls trade pressure capability for greater internal flow area, with ratings scaling down accordingly.
The catalog spans both Imperial diameters and a Metric Diameters group covering 4 to 16 mm OD tubing, so the same FEP performance is available in inch- and millimeter-sized bores. Tubing is sold in standard lengths of 25, 50, and 100', letting users match roll length to the job.
