Supported Applications
The Omega SP-013 Series is an Omega Link Digital Pulse Input Smart Probe designed to integrate digital pulse inputs into the Omega Link Ecosystem. The series supports monitoring of on/off states, pulse rates, duty cycles, and pulse delays. It functions as a rate meter for frequency measurements and provides up/down counting capabilities. Additionally, the SP-013 can operate as an edge controller with autonomous decision-making features.
The device is compatible with Omega Link Cloud environments and Modbus Networks via various wireless and wired interfaces. Supported measurement types include Frequency (Rate), Up Counter, Up/Down Counter, Pulse Width ($T_{PW}$), Pulse Delay ($T_{PD}$), Duty Cycle, Current Loop output simulation, and Voltage output simulation.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The SP-013 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). The device features a modular M12 construction with an IP67 enclosure rating when mated. Power is supplied via the connector at 2.8 VDC to 3.3 VDC, drawing up to 100 mA.
Performance specifications vary by measurement mode:
- Frequency (Rate): Ranges from 0.01 Hz to 100 Hz and 100 Hz to 1000 Hz, with accuracy of ±0.5% or ±1 Hz averaged over 1 sec.
- Counters: Up Counter range is 0 to +8388608; Up/Down Counter range is -8388608 to +8388608, with accuracy of ±1 Count Max for both modes.
- Pulse Width ($T_{PW}$) and Pulse Delay ($T_{PD}$): Minimum measurement time is 200 µS; accuracy is ±50 µS ±1%.
- Duty Cycle: Range of 1% to 99%, with accuracy of ±1.5% Max.
- Current Loop Output Simulation: Range 0 - 24 mA, resolution ±0.1 mA, accuracy ±0.2 mA.
- Voltage Output Simulation: Ranges include 0 - 1.0 VDC and 0 - 2.0 VDC with resolutions of ±10 mV and accuracies of ±10 mV or ±20 mV respectively.
The device supports data/event logging for over 10,000 samples and includes integrated alarm and control functions secured by password protection.
Configuration Options
The series is available in the SP-013-1 model configuration. The hardware features a mixed-mode operation supporting both digital inputs and process inputs via M12 connectors:
- M12 5-Pin Female Connector (Input/Power): Provides Excitation Power (Pin 1), Ground Reference (Pin 3), DIN 0/Pulse A (Pin 2), DIN 1/Reset (Pin 5), and a configurable Pin 4 for DIN 2, Enable, Direction, Pulse B, or Process 0.
- M12 8-Pin Male Connector (Output/Data): Provides Power Supply (3.3VDD on Pin 8), Power Ground (Pin 7), Discrete I/O Signal 0 and 1 (Pins 1 and 6), Interrupt Signal (INTR, Pin 2), Shield Ground (Pin 5), and I2C communication signals SCL and SDA (Pins 3 and 4).
- Discrete I/O: The device includes two digital I/O channels capable of functioning as inputs or outputs.
The series supports software configurability via SYNC configuration software. It is certified with CE and UKCA approvals.
