Supported Applications
The Omega KEM/KER/KET series consists of NEMA 4X Washdown Duty Disconnect Switches, UL508 Listed Manual Motor Controllers. These enclosed disconnect switches are designed for general-purpose disconnects or local across-the-line manual motor control. Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of -20 to 40°C (-4 to 104°F). Enclosure ratings vary by material: Polycarbonate and Stainless Steel models are rated NEMA 4X, IP66. Steel models are rated NEMA 4, IP65.
Electrical connections utilize a terminal block with Cu conductors only (75°C). Terminal size acceptability is defined as:
- 14 to 8 AWG for polycarbonate enclosures
- 12 to 4 AWG for steel enclosures
- 4 to 1/0 AWG for stainless steel enclosures
Terminal torque specifications are 16 Lb.in for polycarbonate and 50 Lb.in for steel/stainless steel.
Configuration Options
The series is available in three housing materials: Polycarbonate, Steel, and Stainless Steel. Model numbers follow the format AU---UL-, with examples including AU-KEM325UL-YR, AU-KET325UL, and AU-KER325UL.

Options and accessories include auxiliary contacts available for select configurations. Handles are pad-lockable for up to three ¼" padlocks.
Key Product Differences
The series includes KEM, KER, and KET model families corresponding to the different enclosure materials (Polycarbonate, Steel, Stainless Steel). A specific constraint noted in the documentation is that model numbers for 150A are not available for stainless steel enclosures. Approvals include UL508 Listed Manual Motor Controllers (UL60947-4-1A), CE, cULus, and RoHS compliance.
