Supported Applications

The Omega OM-AM Control Series consists of non-metallic fiberglass enclosures designed to insulate and protect electrical controls and components. These NEMA 4X (IP66) cabinets are intended for both indoor and outdoor applications, with specific suitability noted for higher temperatures and corrosive environments.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed from a Fiberglass Reinforced Polyester Formulation to provide environmental protection. The documented ambient operating temperature range is -35 to 135°C (-31 to 266°F). Enclosures feature a raised cover design that provides added internal depth compared to standard flat covers.

Compliance and safety certifications for the series include RoHS, CSA, and UL US. The enclosure rating is specified as NEMA 4X (IP66).

Configuration Options

The OM-AM series offers a configurable envelope across box sizes, latching mechanisms, window options, and mounting accessories.

• Box Sizes: Available in three footprint dimensions: 24 x 20 inches (610 x 508 mm), 24 x 24 inches (610 x 610 mm), and 30 x 24 inches (762 x 610 mm).
• Depth Options: Two depth configurations are offered: 8.13 inches (207 mm) and 10.13 inches (257 mm). Usable depths correspond to 8.56 inches (217 mm) for the shallower models and 10.56 inches (268 mm) for deeper units.
• Latching Mechanisms: Models are available with either snap latches or twist latches, both featuring padlocking capability to secure the cover.
• Cover Options: Covers can be ordered as standard solid fiberglass or equipped with a viewing window (indicated by the "W" suffix in model numbers).

The series supports various accessories and sub-panels, including key lock kits for raised cover enclosures, pole mount kits compatible with poles up to 15 inches in diameter, print pockets with adhesive tape, and front panels. Sub-panels are available in fiberglass (OM-PF), aluminum (OM-PA), or steel (OM-P) materials.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the OM-AM series differ primarily by physical dimensions, latch type, and cover configuration as defined in the model number guide: OM-AM<WIDTH>x<HEIGHT>x<DEPTH>.

• Latch Type: Model numbers ending in "RL" denote snap latches with a standard window, while those ending in "RT" indicate twist latches. The addition of "W" (e.g., RLW or RTW) specifies the inclusion of a viewing window.
• Dimensions: Box sizes are identified by width and height digits (2420, 2424, 3024), followed by depth indicators where "8" represents an 8.13-inch overall depth and "0" represents a 10.13-inch overall depth.
• Mounting: All units include 304 SS mounting feet as standard construction features.
