The Dwyer Series 2900 Current to Pressure Transducer converts a 4–20 mA electrical signal into a proportional pneumatic output for control systems operating in hazardous environments. Designed with advanced circuitry and electronic feedback, the series provides vibration-resistant performance suitable for field mounting on valves where mechanical shock or movement is present.

Documented applications include industrial compressed-air systems requiring precise current-to-pressure conversion. The unit's NEMA 4X housing and FM/CSA approvals support deployment in classified locations including Class I Division 1, Zone 0, and Dust Ignitionproof environments as specified by the certifications listed below.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series 2900 operates within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 160°F (-40 to 71°C) with a storage temperature capability from -40 to 200°F (-40 to 93°C). The transducer is not position sensitive and maintains performance under vibration, making it suitable for dynamic field installations.

Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±0.1% of span, hysteresis of ±0.1% of span, and repeatability of ±0.1% of span. The unit is loop powered and requires oil-free, clean dry air filtered to 40 microns as the supply media.

Supply pressure must be maintained at a minimum of 5 psig (0.3 bar) above the maximum output signal, with a maximum allowable input pressure of 100 psig (6.9 bar). The enclosure is rated Weatherproof NEMA 4X (IP66), explosion-proof and intrinsically safe.

Configuration Options

The series offers two primary output ranges configured via specific model numbers:

• Model 2913-E: Accepts a 4–20 mA input and provides an output of 3–15 psig (0.2–1.0 bar).
• Model 2916-E: Accepts a 4–20 mA input and provides an output of 6–30 psig (0.4–2.1 bar).

Housing construction utilizes chromate-treated aluminum with epoxy paint, weighing 1.8 lb (0.82 kg). The unit features a 1/2" female NPT electrical connection and a 1/4" female NPT process connection for air supply.

Approvals & Certifications

The Series 2900 holds CE, CSA, and FM approvals. Specific hazardous location ratings include:

• FM Ratings: Explosion-proof for Class I Division 1 Groups B, C, D (T6); Dust Ignitionproof for Class I Division 1 Groups E, F, G (T6). Intrinsically safe for Class I, II, III Division 1 Groups C–G (T4) and suitable for Zone 0 Group IIB (T4).
• CSA Ratings: Class I Divisions 1 & 2 Groups A–D; Class II Division 1 Groups E–G; Class II & III Division 2 Groups F, G.

Configuration Options

The unit includes easily accessible zero and span adjustments for field calibration. Input and output ports are located on both the front and back of the housing to facilitate installation flexibility. Dip switches allow configuration for direct acting, reverse acting, or split range operation.
