Supported Applications

The Omega SCE-FS Series consists of NEMA Type 3R and 4 free-standing, single-door, single-access enclosures designed to house electrical and electronic controls and instruments. These units provide protection from dust, dirt, water, and oil for outdoor installations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series is constructed with 0.104" Carbon Steel or Type 304 stainless steel (with #4 brushed finish). Standard finishes include white powder coating on the interior and ANSI-61 recatable gray exterior over phosphatized surfaces; stainless steel options feature a #4 brushed finish.

Enclosures meet multiple industry standards depending on configuration:

• Industry Standard IS3: NEMA Type 3R, 12, and 13; UL Listed Type 12; CSA Type 12; IEC 60529 IP55.
• Industry Standard IS4: NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12, and 13; UL Listed Type 3R, 4, and 12; CSA Type 3R, 4, and 12; IEC 60529 IP66.

Dimensions across the series range from a height of 60 to 90 inches, width of 24 to 36 inches, and depth of 18 to 36 inches. A drip shield is required for NEMA 3R rating compliance.

Configuration Options

The SCE-FS Series offers configurable dimensions and material options tailored to specific interior space requirements:

• Housing Materials: Carbon steel (0.104") or Type 304 stainless steel.
• Dimensions: Heights of 60, 72, and 90 inches; widths of 24, 30, and 36 inches; depths ranging from 18 to 36 inches (extra deep configurations available).
• Accessories: Drip shields are offered for various enclosure widths: SCE-DS20N4 (for 18" wide), SCE-DS24N4, SCE-DS30N4, and SCE-DS36N4.
• Panels: Full, Half, and Side Sub-Panels are available for specific models; contact sales for availability.

Standard features include concealed hinges, removable and interchangeable doors, flange trough collars, continuously welded seams, lifting eyes, black zinc die-cast keylocking/padlocking handles with a 3-point latching mechanism, a removable print pocket, horizontal mounting channels, an oil-resistant gasket, and a ground stud on the door.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between two primary industry standard configurations based on model selection:

• NEMA Type 3R Only (IS3): Models such as SCE-603624FS, SCE-723618FS, and the 90-inch variants in this group are designated for NEMA Type 3R free-standing outdoor use.
• NEMA Type 3R and 4 (IS4): Models with "EL" designators (e.g., SCE-60EL2418FS, SCE-72EL2418FS) are rated for both NEMA Type 3R and 4.

The model number follows the format SCE-<HEIGHT><WIDTH><DEPTH>FS. For example, SCE-60EL2418FS denotes a Type 4 free-standing enclosure with dimensions of 60 x 24 x 18 inches.
