Supported Applications

The Omega CL427 Multifunction Calibrator & Arbitrary Function Generator is a hardware platform designed for calibration and arbitrary waveform generation. The series includes the iCal software, which enables communication with the calibrator hardware to view recorded files and edit user-programmable waveforms.

  • Communication with CL427 multifunction calibrators
  • Viewing of recorded data files
  • Editting of user-programmable waveforms

Operating Conditions & Performance

The iCal software is designed to run on Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, XP, and 2000 (SP3). Operation requires a USB cable connection between the computer and the calibrator hardware. The manufacturer holds ISO 9001 certification for facilities in Stamford, CT and Manchester, UK.

Configuration Options

  • Software Platform: iCal software included with CL427 Documenting Multifunction Calibrator.
  • Operating Systems Supported: Microsoft Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000 (SP3).
  • Data Interface: USB cable connection required for hardware communication and data transfer.

Key Product Differences

The CL427 series is identified as a Documenting Multifunction Calibrator paired with the iCal software suite. The provided documentation focuses on the software interface capabilities rather than distinct hardware model variations within this specific bundle scope.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective Efficient for all the works and easy to handle makes it good

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, needs better documentation Worked well for our purposes, but the documentation for this was lacking. We did not realize that USB couples ground plane of CL427 to whatever it is plugged into. Additionally unit must be "on" to charge which we did not realize at first. Overall though it does what it advertises and is convenient.

I have two questions: Does Omega offer any type of Authorization Letter or Certificate for the consumer to be considered approved to use the CL427 for calibrations? Does Omega have cal procedures for IR and Type K contact thermometers?

Asked by: MILNER
As with other calibrators, Omega does not have a specific statement that authorizes the consumer to be considered approved to use the CL427; the customer will need to determine if it meets the needs of the entity they are certifying in accordance with. To use the CL427 for any unit that is being calibrated, please refer to the calibration instructions in sections 1 thru 4 of the operator's manual (link here): https://assets.omega.com/manuals/M5160.pdf
