Supported Applications

The Omega CL427 Multifunction Calibrator & Arbitrary Function Generator is a hardware platform designed for calibration and arbitrary waveform generation. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well, needs better documentation Worked well for our purposes, but the documentation for this was lacking. We did not realize that USB couples ground plane of CL427 to whatever it is plugged into. Additionally unit must be "on" to charge which we did not realize at first. Overall though it does what it advertises and is convenient.

Which TC types will this unit measure or source?

I have two questions: Does Omega offer any type of Authorization Letter or Certificate for the consumer to be considered approved to use the CL427 for calibrations? Does Omega have cal procedures for IR and Type K contact thermometers?

As with other calibrators, Omega does not have a specific statement that authorizes the consumer to be considered approved to use the CL427; the customer will need to determine if it meets the needs of the entity they are certifying in accordance with. To use the CL427 for any unit that is being calibrated, please refer to the calibration instructions in sections 1 thru 4 of the operator's manual (link here): https://assets.omega.com/manuals/M5160.pdf

Can this display a 4-20 mA output value and at the same time display a measured 4-20 mA input value?

how is the CL427 setup to generate mV source voltage using the T/C/mV port for calibrating load cells?
