Supported Applications

The Omega Monnit Alta Wireless Pressure Meters measure non-caustic liquid, gas, or vapor pressures using a standard pressure transducer interfaced to an ALTA wireless radio. The series is designed for applications requiring remote monitoring via the iMonnit online system, which supports sensor configuration, data viewing, and alert notifications via SMS text and email.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series utilizes 50 or 300 PSIG pressure transducers (others available upon request) with a process connection of ¼" NPT-Male Standard. The operating temperature for the process media is 0°F to 175°F (-18°C to 79°C). Ambient operating temperatures vary by housing and battery chemistry: Commercial AA models operate from -18°C to 55°C (0°F to 130°F) using alkaline batteries or -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F) using lithium; Industrial models operate from -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F).

Performance specifications include a response time of 300 msec and stability of 1.0% FS/year (Typ.). The transducer accuracy is rated at 1.0% FS; 0.5% RSS, which includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability. Combined pressure measurement accuracy is ± (2% of reading + 1.05% FS), while user-calibrated pressure accuracy reaches ± (0.5% of reading + 0.5% FS). The voltage measurement resolution is ~0.5 mV.

The series holds FCC, CE, and Industry Canada certifications. Industrial models are UL Listed to UL508-4x specifications (File E194432). Specific frequency compliance includes EN 300 220-2 V3.1.1 (2017-02) for 868 and 433 MHz products.

Configuration Options

The Alta Pressure series is offered in two primary housing configurations: Commercial AA and Industrial. Both support the same core measurement ranges but differ in enclosure ratings, dimensions, weight, and power options.

Housing and Enclosure Ratings

• Commercial: NEMA 4X (IP66) rated; Dimensions: 2.470 in height x 4.375 in width x 1.111 in depth; Weight: 10.3 Ounces.
• Industrial: NEMA 1, 2, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 rated, sealed and weather proof; Dimensions: 2.316 in height x 3.701 in width x 1.378 in depth; Weight: 13.3 Ounces.

Power Options

• Battery: Commercial models use AA batteries (alkaline or lithium); Industrial models include a battery with 1800 mAh capacity rated for -40°C to +85°C.
• Line Power: Optional line power option available with barrel power connector and backup AA batteries.
• Solar Feature (Industrial): Optional solar feature includes a 5VDC / 30mA solar panel (53mm x 30mm) and a 600 mAh rechargeable battery (>2000 charge cycles). Charging temperature range is 0°C to 45°C (32°F to 113°F).

Interface Specifications

The system measures pressure from a 5-volt transducer. The interface board supports a Max Voltage Output of 5.5 V and Typical Voltage Output of 5.0 V. Input impedance is 13 kOhm, with a voltage measurement range of 0 - 5.2 V.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between Commercial AA and Industrial variants based on environmental protection and power architecture:

• Commercial Grade Sensors: Designed for ordinary environments; not recommended for corrosive, volatile, or excessively humid conditions.
• Industrial Grade Sensors: Enclosed in NEMA rated enclosures specifically for protection against dust, water, and ice formation. These units support the optional solar feature and include a higher-capacity battery configuration suitable for wider temperature extremes without external power.
