Supported Applications
The Omega NMP Series consists of miniature thermocouple connectors designed for heavy-duty construction in temperature measurement systems. These color-coded connectors interface with specific thermocouple types to provide electrical continuity and compensation matching.
- Type K (CHROMEGA®-ALOMEGA®)
- Type T (Copper-Constantan)
- Type J (Iron-Constantan)
- Type E (CHROMEGA-Constantan)
- Types R/S (Pt/13%Rh-Pt)
- Type G (W-W/26%Re)
- Type C (W/5%Re-W/26%Re)
- Type D (W/3%Re-W/25%Re)
- Type U (Uncompensated, used with Type B thermocouples Pt/6%Rh-Pt/30%Rh)
- Type N (OMEGALLOY® / OMEGA-P® and OMEGA-N®)
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series is rated for an ambient service temperature range of -29 to 180°C (-20 to 356°F). The connectors are constructed from Glass-Filled Nylon. A note in the documentation indicates that minor discoloration may occur between 150°C (302°F) and 180°C (356°F), though electrical properties remain unaffected.
Configuration Options
The NMP Series is configurable by thermocouple alloy code and connector gender. The model number follows the format NMP-<Alloy Code>-<Connector Designation>, where the designation specifies 'M' for male or 'F' for female connectors.
- Electrical Connection: Crimp Style Brass and Stainless Steel Bushing
- Wire Compatibility: Accepts stranded or solid wire up to 20 AWG
- Housing Features: Includes silicone wire grommet and combination Phillips/Slot screws
Physical dimensions vary by connector gender: - Female Connector: Height 27.7 mm (1.09 in), Width 9.7 mm (0.38 in), Depth 7.1 mm (0.28 in); Wire hole diameter 4.93 mm (0.19 in). - Male Connector: Height 23.4 mm (0.92 in), Width 19.1 mm (0.75 in), Depth 12.7 mm (0.50 in); Diameter 2.5 mm (0.10 in).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the series are distinguished by shell color and compensating alloy composition, which correspond to specific thermocouple types:
- Type K: Yellow Shell; CHROMEGA/ALOMEGA alloys
- Type T: Blue Shell; Copper/Constantan alloys
- Type J: Black Shell; Iron/Constantan alloys
- Type E: Purple Shell; CHROMEGA/Constantan alloys
- Types R/S: Green Shell; Copper/RNX-SNX alloys
- Type G: Red/Green Shell; GPX/GNX alloys
- Type C: Red Shell; CPX/CNX alloys
- Type D: Red/White Shell; DPX/DNX alloys
- Type U: White Shell; Copper/Copper (Uncompensated)
- Type N: Orange Shell; OMEGA-P®/OMEGA-N® alloys

Good Quality Connector
Higher strength plastic than other brands, and sized to handle an appropriate range of wire sizes. Shape makes it easier than others to unplug, as well.
