Supported Applications

The Omega LC321 Series consists of miniature compression load cells designed for robotic applications and industrial environments. These units feature an ultra-low profile construction to accommodate space-constrained installations while providing long life and high reliability in force measurement tasks.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within a temperature range of -54 to 121°C (-65 to 250°F), with thermal compensation specified for 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Thermal effects are rated at Zero: 0.005% FSO/°F and Span: 0.01% rdg/°F. The load cells deliver an output signal of 2 mV/V with a maximum excitation voltage of 15 Vdc (nominal 10 Vdc). Accuracy is specified as ±2.0% FSO linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability combined, with a zero balance of ±2% FSO.

Each unit undergoes a 5-point calibration at 0%, 50%, 100%, 50%, and 0%. The series carries an IP65 protection class rating. Electrical specifications include an input resistance minimum of 360 Ω and an output resistance of 350 ±5 Ω.

Configuration Options

The LC321 Series is available in five capacity ranges, covering 0-250 lb to 0-2000 lb (0-114 kg to 0-909 kg). The model number follows the format LC321-<CAPACITY>, with specific examples including LC321-750 and LC321-1K. Key configurable or fixed attributes include:

  • Construction Material: Stainless steel housing.
  • Process Connection: 1/4-28 UNF THRU threaded center hole with a diameter of 13 mm (.516").
  • Dimensions: Overall diameter of 38 mm (1.50") and height of 10 mm (0.40").
  • Cable Assembly: Includes a 1.5 m (5') 4-conductor shielded cable.
  • Calibration Documentation: Shipped with NIST Standard traceability and includes 59 kΩ shunt data.

The series is RoHS compliant. Compatible meters listed for the LC321 include DPiS, DP41-S, and DP25B-S models.
