Supported Applications
The OM-CP-MICRORHTemp is a miniature, self-contained temperature and relative humidity data logger and a member of the NOMAD Family. It is small enough to fit down the neck of a beverage bottle, which makes it practical for monitoring conditions inside packaging and confined spaces. Typical applications include pharmaceuticals, biomedical research, food processing and transport.
The stainless steel construction is food grade, so the logger suits sanitary food processing and cold-chain transport where product contact standards apply. Programmable high and low alarm limits let the device flag when temperature reaches or exceeds a set point, supporting quality monitoring during storage and shipment. Note that the OM-CP-MICRORHTemp is not submersible.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The OM-CP-MICRORHTemp records temperature over a range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) and relative humidity over a range of 0 to 95% RH non-condensing. Humidity accuracy is 3% RH, with a calibrated accuracy of ±3% RH, and humidity resolution is 0.95% RH. The rated accuracy range is 10 to 80% RH, 10 to 40°C. Response time is a 90% change in 60 seconds in slow moving air.
The reading interval is selectable from 1 reading every 2 seconds to 1 every 12 hours, and the start time and date are software programmable up to 6 months in advance. Onboard memory holds 16,383 readings per channel. The unit is powered by 2 to 1.55V R1154W batteries and provides 1 year of battery life at a 15-minute sample rate. The computer interface is PC serial or USB (interface cable required) at 38,400 baud, with software supporting XP SP3/Vista and 7 (32-bit and 64-bit).
Configuration Options
This series is offered as a single configuration, the OM-CP-MICRORHTemp, a combined temperature and humidity logger. It uses an internal semiconductor temperature sensor and a semiconductor humidity sensor. The housing measures 15 L x 38 mm Dia. (0.60 x 1.5") in 316L SS (food grade) and weighs 30 g (1 oz). The device carries CE marking and ISO 9001 Certified and ISO 9002 Certified quality approvals, with a 5 YEAR WARRANTY.
Capability can be extended through accessories. An optional NIST calibration certificate is available and is ordered as the OM-CP-MICRORHTemp-CERT. Operation requires a Windows software and interface cable package, ordered separately as either the OM-CP-IFC102 (RS232 serial) or the OM-CP-IFC202 (USB). Replacement power is supplied by the OM-CP-BAT106 silver oxide coin cell, of which the logger requires 2.
Key Product Differences
- OM-CP-MICRORHTemp - Miniature temperature and humidity data logger (not submersible)
- OM-CP-MICRORHTemp-CERT - Miniature temperature and humidity data logger with NIST calibration certificate (not submersible)
- OM-CP-IFC102 - Windows software and 1.2 m (4') RS232 cable with DB9F termination
- OM-CP-IFC202 - Windows software and 3.7 m (12') USB interface cable
- OM-CP-BAT106 - Replacement 1.55V silver oxide coin cell (logger requires 2) for OM-CP-MICRORHTemp

Horrible battery life
I purchased this a couple months ago, but was not able to use it because the cables required to actually operate it (which also had to be purchased separately) to an additional 6 weeks to arrive. The data logger arrived with dead batteries, which I though was strange, but maybe not totally unusual. It turns out that they were likely dead because the battery life is only 2 - 3 days. Once the cable arrived, I installed three fresh batteries, set up the logger to record every 20 minutes and let it run over a weekend. When I tried to download the data on Monday morning, I couldn't. The software couldn't find the datalogger. Apparently if the batteries are dead, you're completely out of luck, even for downloading the data.
Terrible design, especially for over $400 (including cables).

Use them every day, oh well
Have been using these for testing in production for a few years. Very clumsy way to get data. You need new batteries or data is not reliable. The data download is slow for such a pricey USB coms cable. I need to close the software after a few downloads in order to establish comms with a sensor frequently.
