Supported Applications
The Omega PXM309 series comprises metric, general-purpose pressure transducers designed for multimedia compatibility. These stainless steel units utilize high-performance silicon technology to measure Absolute Pressure, Gage (Relative) Pressure, and Vacuum and Compound Gage Pressure.
- Absolute Pressure: 350 mbar to 20 bar
- Gage (Relative) Pressure: 70 mbar to 700 bar
- Vacuum and Compound Gage Pressure: Ranges including -1 to +1 bar, -1 to +2 bar, up to -1 to +10 bar
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient and process temperature range of -40 to 85°C (-40 to 185°F). Static accuracy is specified as ±0.25% FS BSL at 25°C, which includes linearity, hysteresis, and repeatability. Long-term stability over one year is rated at ±0.25% FS.
Total Error Band varies by range: ±4.5% gage for 70 mB; ±3% gage for 140 mB; ±1.5% gage and absolute for 350 mB; ±1% absolute for 1 to 20 bar; and ±1% gage for 1 to 700 bar.
- Response Time: 1 mS
- Bandwidth: DC to 1 kHz type
- Pressure Cycles: 1 x 10⁷ full scale cycles
- Shock Rating: 50 g 11 mSec half sine shock
- Vibration Rating: ± 20 g
Overload and Burst Limits
Pressure overload limits depend on the specific range:
- 70 mB to 3.5 bar Gage: 3 x rated pressure or 1.38 bar whichever is greater.
- 350 mB to 20 bar Absolute: 3 x rated pressure or 1.38 bar whichever is greater.
- 7 to 700 bar Gage: 2 x rated pressure.
Burst pressure limits are defined as:
- 70 mB to 3.5 bar Gage and 350 mB to 20 bar Absolute: 5 x rated pressure or 1.72 bar whichever is greater.
- 7 to 700 bar Gage: 5 x rated power.
Configuration Options
The PXM309 series offers three distinct electrical connection configurations, identified by model prefixes:
- PXM309 Series (Cable): Features a 1.5 m (5') cable with 2 or 3 conductors depending on output.
- PXM319 Series (mini DIN): Equipped with a mini DIN connector; mating connector included.
- PXM359 Series (M12 Connector): Utilizes an M12 4-pin connector. Note: For gage units below 70 bar, vented cable options are required for PXM359 models.
Output and Power
Selectable output signals include:
- 0 to 10 Vdc Output: Requires supply voltage of 15 to 30 Vdc at 10 mA.
- 4 to 20 mA Output: Requires supply voltage of 9 to 30 Vdc.
The units feature reverse polarity and over-voltage protection. Isolation from body to any lead is rated at 1 M Ω at 25 Vdc.
Materials and Construction
Housing material is Stainless Steel with an IP65 Environmental Rating. The process connection is a G ¼ Male Pressure Fitting. Wetted parts materials vary by range:
- 70 mB to 3.5 bar Gage: 316 SS.
- 350 mB to 20 bar Absolute: 316 SS.
- 7 to 700 bar Gage: 17-4PH SS.
Note that units in the 0 to 35 bar range may contain an HNBR o-ring in the wetted pressure port assembly. A sealing washer for G 1/4, stainless steel with FKM seal (PXMW-4) is included.
Key Product Differences
The series encompasses three model families distinguished by their electrical termination method:
- PXM309: Cable models with flying leads.
- PXM319: mini DIN connector models.
- PXM359: M12 4-pin connector models.
Model numbers follow the format PXM[Series]--, where output is designated as '10V' for 0 to 10 Vdc or 'I' for 4 to 20 mA. Pressure type suffixes include A (Absolute), G (Gage), V (Vacuum), and CG (Compound Gage). Each unit ships with a 5-point traceable calibration certificate.

Hi We recently have bought 4 pressure transducers (PXM309-007AI, 2-wire), would you please advise on the wiring of these transducers, how can we get the output signal. We need to connect them to a data acquisition system.
These are a 2-wire, 4 to 20mADC output, loop powered device. The Red wire would connect to the (+) positive side of a DC power supply. This does not have to be regulated. The sensor run on anything between 9 and 30VDC. The Black wire would connect to the (+) positive input side of the device you are reading the signal with. An example would be a DC milliamp meter. You would complete the circuit by connecting the (-) negative input side of this device to the (-) negative output of the power supply.

What is supply voltage must I provide? Is the output measured from Output to Excitation(-)? The port size is 1/4". Is that 1/4" NPT, NPTF?
For the 0 to 100mV output units excitation is 5VDC. For the 0 to 5VDC and 4 to 20mADC output units excitation is 9 to 30VDC. For the 0 to 10VDC output units excitation is 15 to 30VDC. Wiring for 100mv is 4 wires (2 Excitation and 2 Signal). Wiring for the 0 to 5VDC and 0 to 10VDC is a 3-wire hookup (+ Exc, Common, +Sig). Wiring for the 4 to 20mA is 2-wire loop powered (+Exc and Signal Return). Fitting is 1/4 NPT Male tread.

Can this be used to measure air, hydraulic oil, water and engine coolant pressures?
Thank you for your inquire
This line of transducers has all stainless wetted parts. That are good for liquid or gas that will not attack stainless
Hope this was helpful
