Supported Applications
The Omega DPGM409 series comprises metric differential pressure digital gauges designed for wet/wet, uni-directional measurement. The product overview identifies these instruments as suitable for washdown and marine applications.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series delivers an accuracy of ±0.08% BSL (Combined Linearity, Hysteresis and Repeatability). Measurement ranges span from 0-25 mbar to 0-70 bar with a resolution displayed on a 4-digit LCD (9999 count) featuring 25 mm character height. The operating temperature range is -18 to 66°C (0 to 150°F), while storage temperature extends from -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F).
Thermal effects over the operating range are specified as ±1% span for ranges of 25 mb to 70 mb, and ±0.5% span for ranges greater than 70 mb (applying to both Zero Balance and Span Setting). Long-term stability is typically ±0.1% FS per year.
Pressure ratings vary by range: Proof Pressure (differential) equals 10 times the range for 25 mbar, 6 times for 70 mbar, 4 times for ranges from 170 mb to 50 Bar, and 3 times for the 70 Bar Range. Hi-Side Containment Pressure supports up to 1000 psi for differential ranges of 25 to 350 mb, and up to 3000 psi for ranges of 1 to 70 bar.
The enclosure is rated NEMA 4X (IP65). The device includes a user-selectable response time from 0.38 to 30 seconds, preset to 1/second. Power is supplied by one included 3.6V lithium battery with an 8.4 Ah capacity (C cell), providing up to 4 years of typical battery life.
Configuration Options
The DPGM409 series offers configurable analog outputs and optional wireless transmission capabilities alongside standard wired configurations.
- Analog Output: User-selectable signals include 0 to 5 Vdc, 0 to 10 Vdc, or 4 to 20 mA. Note that an external 24 Vdc power supply is required for the analog output function.
- Wireless Option: Models with the "-W" suffix include a wireless transmitter operating on ISM 2.4 GHz (10 dBm RF Output). The transmit sample rate is programmable from 1 sample/2 min to 1 sample/2 sec, with an outdoor range up to 120 m (400') line of sight and indoor range up to 40 m (130').
- Display & Interface: Features a backlit LCD with bar graph display. Front panel functions include Min/Max recall, Zero/Clear, and backlight control. A USB connection is provided for setup.
- Alarms: User-selectable "High" and "Low" alarm limits are available via open collector output.
The series includes a 2.7 m (8.9') analog output cable with ferrite core, USB cable, magnetic stylus for keypad activation, operator's manual, charting software, and a 5-point NIST traceable calibration certificate. Wireless models include two batteries.
