Product Overview
- Series ID FPUD400-Series
Supported Applications
The Omega FPUD400 Series drum pumps are designed for emptying a wide variety of containers in various applications. The series is suitable for fluids up to 2,000 cps viscosity and 1.8 specific gravity. Modular construction supplies the pump tube and motor separately for maximum flexibility.
Applications include pumping flammable or combustible materials when configured with an air motor, a stainless steel tube, and the FPUD34-SK static protection kit to avoid sparks produced by static electricity discharge. The series also supports sanitary applications via the FPUD4-SNT40 pump tube featuring polished 316 SS construction.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The FPUD400 Series handles fluids with a maximum viscosity of 2,000 cps and specific gravity up to 1.8. Process temperature limits vary by tube material: tubes are rated up to 65°C (150°F) for SS and sanitary tubes, or up to 82°C (180°F) for CPVC tubes.
Performance specifications include a maximum flow of 17 GPM and a maximum head of 32 ft across the documented tube models. All tube assemblies feature graphite-PTFE seals with PTFE internals and provide a 25 mm (1") ID hose connection on the outlet.
Motor Specifications
- FPUD411: ¼ HP, 3,450 RPM, 115 Vac, single-phase, 50/60 Hz TEFC motor; weight 8.1 kg (18 lb).
- FPUD421: ¼ HP, 3,450 RPM, 230 Vac, single-phase, 50/60 Hz IP54 motor; weight 8.1 kg (18 lb). CE certified.
- FPUD431: ½ HP air-driven motor operating at 6,000 RPM with Air 80 psi @ 25 cfm; weight 1.8 kg (4 lb).
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable pump tubes in CPVC, 316 SS, and Sanitary Polished 316 SS materials with varying lengths to accommodate different container depths.
Pump Tube Options
- CPVC Tubes: Models FPUD4-C27 (0.7 m / 2.25 ft), FPUD4-C40 (1.0 m / 3.33 ft), and FPUD4-C48 (1.2 m / 4.0 ft) feature a 1⅝" tube OD.
- 316 SS Tubes: Models FPUD4-S27 (0.7 m / 2.25 ft), FPUD4-S40 (1.0 m / 3.33 ft), and FPUD4-S48 (1.2 m / 4.0 ft) feature a 1½" tube OD.
- Sanitary Polished 316 SS: Model FPUD4-SNT40 features a polished 316 SS tube and shaft, graphite-filled seal, pure PTFE internals, an ACME sanitary nut connection, and is available in 0.9 m (3.0 ft) length with a 1½" OD.
Accessories & Connections
The FPUD4 Series supports various drum adaptors for the S-Series tubes: FPUD4-SDA-P (polypro), FPUD4-SDA-S (316 stainless steel), and FPUD4-SDA-GS (galvanized steel). Inlet strainers are available as FPUD4-PS (PVC/Polypro) for CPVC tubes or FPUD4-SS (316 SS) for SS tubes.
For the air motor, accessories include the FPUD345-FL filter-lubricator assembly and the mandatory FPUD34-SK anti-static kit. Electrical units feature a 3.6 m (12') three-wire cord with built-in ON/OFF switch and circuit breaker; the FPUD411 includes a wall plug, while air motors utilize a ¼" female NPT fitting.
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes between electric (Vac) and pneumatic drive options. Electric models include the 115 Vac FPUD411 and the CE-certified 230 Vac FPUD421 with IP54 rating, both featuring TEFC or fan-cooled construction. The air-driven FPUD431 provides spark-free operation suitable for hazardous environments when paired with stainless steel tubes.
Tube variations are defined by material and finish: CPVC models (C-Series) offer higher temperature tolerance up to 82°C (180°F), while SS models (S-Series) operate up to 65°C (150°F). The Sanitary model FPUD4-SNT40 differs from standard S-Series tubes by incorporating a polished finish, graphite-filled seal, and ACME sanitary nut connection.
