Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series 616WL is a differential pressure transmitter designed to sense very low pressures of air and non-combustible, compatible gases. The unit converts these measurements into a standard 4-20 mA output signal suitable for process monitoring systems.
- Measurement types: Positive, negative, and differential pressures
- Service media: Air and non-combustible, compatible gases (wetted materials require factory consultation)
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series 616WL operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 140°F (-17.8 to 60°C), with compensated performance specified between 32 to 120°F (0 to 48.9°C) per the instruction manual or 20 to 120°F (-6.67 to 48.9°C) per the data sheet; both sources confirm a thermal effect of ±0.02% F.S./°F (0.036% F.S./°C) from 77°F (25°C). The transmitter delivers full span accuracy of ±0.50% F.S., with display models offering ±0.5% display accuracy and stability rated at ±1% F.S./yr.
- Power supply: 12-30 VDC (2-wire)
- Loop resistance: DC; 0 to 900 Ω maximum
- Current consumption: DC; 38 mA maximum
Configuration Options
The series is factory calibrated to specific ranges and offered with or without a 3-digit LCD digital read-out. Models are enclosed in a weatherproof polycarbonate case rated NEMA 4X (IP66). Process connections utilize integral barbed fittings dual-sized to fit both 1/8" and 3/16" (3.2 and 4.8 mm) I.D. rubber or vinyl tubing, while electrical connections are made via a screw-type terminal block.
Available Pressure Ranges
- 0-0.25 in w.c. / 0 to ±0.25 in w.c.
- 0-1 in w.c. / 0 to ±1 in w.c.
- 0-60 Pa / 0 to ±60 Pa
- 0-250 Pa / 0 to ±250 Pa
Configuration Options
- Display: Standard or with LCD digital read-out (e.g., model suffix -LCD)
- Calibration Certificate: NIST traceable calibration certificate available via the -NIST option code
- Housing Mounting: Vertical orientation; consult factory for other position orientations
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series 616WL differ primarily by pressure range and the inclusion of a digital display. Models without an LCD (e.g., 616WL-2) weigh 17 oz (482 g), while models with an LCD (e.g., 616WL-2-LCD) weigh 18 oz (510 g). Maximum pressure ratings vary by range: units in the 0.25 and 1 in w.c. ranges list maximum pressures of 2 psig or 4 psig respectively, while Pa-based models specify limits of 13.8 kPa or 27.6 kPa depending on the specific model variant.
- Zero and Span Adjustments: Internal digital push-button adjustments allow for field calibration checks; these controls are not intended for re-ranging to a significantly different span
