Supported Applications

The Omega LC900/LCM900 Series consists of compression load cells designed to measure the clamping force of a bolt. These units are engineered for severe industrial environments, offering excellent long-term stability with all stainless steel construction. The series is intended for mounting on a flat surface between two included mounting washers.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LC901 and LCM901 load washers operate within an ambient temperature range of -54 to 93°C (-65 to 200°F), with a compensated temperature range of 16 to 71°C (60 to 160°F). Performance specifications include ±3.5% FSO linearity, hysteresis and repeatability combined accuracy, and a zero balance of ±4% FSO. Thermal effects are rated at Zero: ±0.018% FSO/°C and Span: ±0.036% rdg/°C.

Electrical characteristics feature an excitation voltage of 5 Vdc (10V max), a nominal output signal of 2 mV/V, and a bridge resistance of 120 Ω nominal. The series supports measurement ranges from 0-2000 lb to 0-100,000 lb for standard models and 0-10,000 N to 0-500,000 N for metric models. Overload ratings are defined as Safe Overload: 130% of capacity and Ultimate Overload: 150% of capacity.

Configuration Options

The series is available in two primary configurations based on electrical termination:

 • Stripped Ends (LC901/LCM901): Features a 1.2 m (4') insulated shielded cable.
 • Connector End (LC911/LCM911): Designed for use with the PT01F10-6P mating connector, available as an accessory.

Bolt sizes and capacities cover both inch and metric standards:

 • Inch Series (LC901/LC911): Available in ¼", ⅜", ½", ⅝", ¾", and 1½" bolt sizes with capacities ranging from 2,000 lb to 100,000 lb.
 • Metric Series (LCM901/LCM911): Available in 6 mm, 10 mm, 13 mm, 16 mm, 19 mm, and 38 mm bolt sizes with capacities ranging from 10,000 N to 500,000 N.

Each unit includes a 5-point NIST-traceable calibration certificate and a 59 kΩ shunt resistor. The series holds RoHS compliance.

Key Product Differences

The LC901/LCM901 models are distinguished by their stripped cable ends, while the LC911/LCM911 variants feature a connector interface compatible with the PT01F10-6P mating connector. Model numbering follows the format LC901-<BOLT SIZE>-<CAPACITY> for inch models (e.g., LC901-1/4-5K) and LCM901-<BOLT SIZE>-<CAPACITY> for metric models (e.g., LCM901-6-10Kn). Dimensions vary by size, with overall diameters ranging from 25.4 mm to 66.7 mm and thicknesses varying between 4.75 mm and 22.2 mm depending on the specific capacity and bolt diameter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from 120 Ohm Load Cells The load cells have 120 Ohm resistance. Many of the load cell amplifiers available, including the one recommended for this product, require the load cell to have at least 300 Ohms resistance. That makes this device hard to use.

What is the actual transducer height without the additional washers?

Asked by: MLFEP
MLFEP, Thank you for your question. Please open the spec sheet and review the "W" dimension corresponding to your range.

Are the top and bottom washers required if the bottom of the transducer sits on a flat surface, and the item on the top has a .750 O.D. and .266 I.D.?

Asked by: MikeTG
The top washer should always be used. It assures the load is distributed around the I.D. evenly. The bottom washer would not be need if the surface the surface the load is resting on is perfectly flat
