Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series DPMP LCD Digital Panel Meters are designed to display process values from transmitters measuring pressure, humidity, temperature, voltage, current, wattage, or power factor. The series accepts input signals of 4-20 mA for current models and 0-200 mVDC, 0-5 VDC, or 0-10 VDC for voltage models.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series DPMP operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C) and supports storage temperatures from -4 to 158°F (-20 to 70°C). Accuracy is specified as ±(0.1% FS + 2 count) for the DPMW/P/L configurations, while DPMA models achieve ±0.05% FS + 1 count. The display updates at a conversion rate of 3 per second with a typical warm-up time of 10 minutes.
Electrical specifications vary by input type:
- DPMX-4XX(P) Inputs (Current): Input impedance is 300Ω nominal; powered by the control loop.
- DPMX-5XX(P) Inputs (Voltage): Input impedance is 390KΩ nominal; requires a separate power supply of 12 VDC or 24 VDC.
- Backlight: Requires a 24 VDC @ 35 mA typical power supply to illuminate colored segments (amber, red, green).
Configuration Options
The series offers configurable engineering units and decimal point positions via jumper settings. Available engineering unit sets include °F, °C, %, PSI for standard models (DPMP-XXX) and V, A, KW, PF for power factor models (DPMP-XXXXP). Decimal points are user-selectable in 3-position configurations.
Key configurable features include:
- Display Resolution: 3-1/2 digits with 7 segments and a segment height of 0.45" (11.4 mm) H for DPMW/P/L models; DPMA models feature 1" (25.4 mm) H segments.
- Mounting: Snap-in bezel mount eliminates the need for mounting hardware on specific variants, while other configurations in the broader family support window or panel clamp mounts.
- Polarity Handling: Automatic polarity detection with a "-" displayed for negative values (or "+" depending on model configuration).
- Zero and Span Adjustment: Adjustable over ±1999 counts to calibrate the display range.
The series is RoHS compliant. Accessories include regulated power supplies such as the DPM-12P (120 VAC to 12 VDC) and DPM-24P (120 VAC to 24 VDC).
Key Product Differences
The Series DPMP encompasses several model families with distinct physical dimensions and mounting styles:
- DPMW/P/L Models: Feature a snap-in bezel mount or window mount design. Dimensions are approximately 2-35/64" (64.5 mm) width by 1-9/64" (29 mm) height with a depth of 1-5/8 in [41.1 mm]. Weight is 2 oz (56.7 g).
- DPMA Models: Designed for standard 1/8 DIN packages with high contrast displays. Dimensions are approximately 3-25/32" (96 mm) front height by 3-15/32" [88] rear housing depth, weighing 4 oz (113.4 g).
Model numbering indicates input type and display color: "DPMP-XXX" denotes engineering units like °F or PSI with amber/red/green segments, while "DPMP-XXXXP" denotes electrical units like V/A/KW/PF. The DPML designation refers to 4-1/2 digit variants within the series family.
