Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series DPMA-4 LCD Digital Panel Meter is designed to display process values from transmitters measuring pressure, humidity, temperature, voltage, current, wattage, or power factor. The unit accepts a standard 4 to 20 mA DC input signal and provides field-selectable engineering units including °F, °C, %, PSI (DPMA-XXX models) or V, A, KW, PF (DPMA-XXXP models). With automatic polarity detection that displays a "–" for negative values, the meter is configured to monitor bipolar spans with adjustable zero settings.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The Series DPMA-4 operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 122°F (0 to 50°C). Storage conditions are rated from -4 to 158°F (-20 to 70°C). Performance specifications include a measurement accuracy of ±0.05% FS + 1 count, with an input impedance of 300Ω nominal. The display updates at a conversion rate of 3 per second, and the unit requires approximately 10 minutes typical warm-up time.

The meter features a 3-1/2 digit, 7-segment LCD with segment heights of 1" (25.4 mm). Span and zero adjustments are configurable across ±1999 counts to accommodate specific process ranges within the -1999 to 1999 display limit.

Power Requirements

• Main Power: Powered by control loop (4-20 mA input).
• Backlight Power Supply: Requires 24 VDC @ 35 mA typical. If the backlight supply is not the same as the loop supply, grounds must be referenced together.

Configuration Options

The Series DPMA-4 offers configurable options for display color and engineering unit sets to match specific instrumentation needs. The meter utilizes screw terminals for electrical connections and includes a gasket with snap-in panel mount or clamp mounting hardware.

The Series DPMA-4 is distinguished from other meters in the broader Dwyer family (DPMW, DPM, DPML) by its specific housing and display configuration.

• Housing & Mounting: The DPMA features a standard 1/8 DIN package with snap-in panel mount or clamp installation. This differs from the window-mount style of the DPMW series or the bezel-mount design of the DPML series.
• Display Size: The DPMA utilizes large 1" (25.4 mm) high segments, whereas other family members may offer 0.45" segments for compact applications.
• Digits & Resolution: Configured as a 3-1/2 digit meter with automatic polarity display; the DPML variant in the broader series offers 4-1/2 digits.

Note: The Series DPMA is not field serviceable. Units requiring repair must be returned to Dwyer after obtaining a Return Goods Authorization number, as attempting field repairs may void the warranty.
