Supported Applications
The Omega iLD Series comprises large-display digital panel meters and PID controllers designed for universal temperature monitoring, process measurement, strain gage applications, AC current/voltage sensing, frequency/pulse/rate totalization, and remote display via serial or Ethernet inputs. The series supports thermocouple types J, K, T, E, R, S, B, C, N, L (ITS 90) and RTD sensors (100/500/1000 Ω Pt, ITS 68). Configurable for industrial process control, the units feature programmable color-changing displays that shift between RED, AMBER, and GREEN at set points or alarm conditions.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The iLD Series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) with up to 90% RH non-condensing. A warm-up period of 60 minutes is required for UTP, SP, FP, ACC, and ACV models to achieve rated accuracy. Accuracy specifications vary by input model: Universal Temperature/Process (UTP) offers ±0.5°C temperature or 0.03% reading process; Strain/Process (SP) provides 0.03% reading; Frequency/Pulse (FP) achieves ±0.1% of FS with crystal time-based accuracy of ±50 ppm at 25°C; AC Current (ACC) and AC Voltage (ACV) models specify ±0.2% of FS across their respective frequency ranges.
Response times are documented as a step response of 0.7 sec for 99.9% final value on UTP and SP inputs, while ACC and ACV models respond in 2 s to 99% (filter time constant = 64). FP models with RS485 output achieve 0.1 s to 99%. The reading rate is 3 samples per second across the series.
Configuration Options
The iLD Series offers extensive configuration options for display size, input type, and communication protocols:
- Display Sizes & Digits: Available with 57 mm (2.25") or 101 mm (4") LED digits in either 4-digit or 6-digit configurations.
- Housing & Mounting: Units mount flush in a panel or on the surface using included brackets. The enclosure provides NEMA 4 (IP65) protection for the entire unit, with specific front bezel ratings also noted as NEMA 4 (IP65).
- Input Models:
- UTP: Universal temperature and process inputs including thermocouples, RTDs, voltage (0 to 100 mV, 0 to 1 V, 0 to 10 Vdc), and current (0 to 20 mA).
- SP: Strain gage and process inputs with linearization points up to 10.
- ACC/ACV: Dedicated AC Current ranges (10 mA, 100 mA, 1 A, 5 A) and AC Voltage ranges (400 mV, 4 V, 40 V, 400 V).
- FP: Frequency/Pulse/Rate inputs from 0.2 Hz to 50 KHz with totalize modes.
- Communication Options:
- -C24: Isolated RS232 and RS485/422 output (baud rate 300 to 19.2 kB).
- -EI: Ethernet, RS232, RS485/422 output.
- -C4EI: Ethernet with embedded Web server + RS485/422 hub for up to 31 devices (IEEE 802.3, 10 Base-T).
- Control & Alarms: Optional -33 suffix provides 2 relays form C SPDT 3 A @ 120/240 Vac for UTP and SP models only. Alarm 1 and 2 are programmable with high, low, band, latch/unlatch operations.
- Power Supply: Universal input of 100 to 240 Vac ±10%, 50/60 Hz (22.5 W).
Key Product Differences
The series distinguishes models by display size and digit count, indicated in the model code: "iLD2" denotes a 57 mm (2.25") display while "iLD4" indicates a 101 mm (4") display; the following number specifies digits (e.g., iLD24 is 4-digit, iLD26 is 6-digit). Input functionality varies by suffix: UTP and SP models support relay outputs (-33) and full PID control features including setpoint adjustment from -1999 to 9999 counts. FP, ACC, and ACV models focus on frequency and electrical measurements with standard RS485 output or optional Ethernet/serial configurations (-EI). Remote display variants (C2/EI suffixes) accept serial or network inputs for monitoring without local sensor connections.
