Supported Applications

The Omega iLD-UTP and iLD-SP Series are large display meters and controllers designed for monitoring temperature, process variables, strain gage inputs, voltage, and current. The series supports universal temperature input via Thermocouples (K, J, T, E, R, S, B, C, N, J DIN) and RTDs (Pt 100, 500, 1000 Ω; 2, 3, or 4 wire). Process applications include DC voltage and current monitoring as well as strain gage measurements. Units are UL and cUL Certified and RoHS 2 Compliant.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) with a humidity rating of 90% RH non-condensing. Accuracy is specified as ±0.5°C for temperature inputs and ±0.03% reading for process, strain gage, and pressure transducer inputs. The step response time is 0.7 sec for 99.9%. Electrical isolation includes a test rating of 2300 Vac per 1 min between power to input/output (RS232 or RS485) and 500 Vac per 1 min between inputs.

Performance specifications include:

  • A/D Conversion: Dual slope
  • NMR: 60 dB
  • CMRR: 120 dB
  • Reading Rate: 3 samples per second
  • Digital Filter: Programmable

Configuration Options

The iLD-UTP and iLD-SP series are available in two display sizes: the iLD24 with a 57 mm (2.25") 4-digit LED display, and the iLD44 with a 101 mm (4") 4-digit LED display. The programmable color options for the process variable, set point, and temperature units include RED, AMBER, and GREEN.

Input ranges supported by the series include:

  • Voltage Inputs: 0 to 100 mVdc, -100 mVdc to 1 Vdc, 0 to 10 Vdc
  • Current Input: 0 to 20 mA (5 Ω load)

The series supports optional control outputs for alarm and full PID control. Available output configurations include Form C SPDT mechanical relays (3A @ 120/240 Vac), Solid State Relays, DC pulse, and programmable analog outputs (0 to 20 mA, 0 to 100 mV, 0 to 1 V, 0 to 10 Vdc). Communication options include RS232, RS485, RS422, MODBUS, and Ethernet with an embedded Web server. Factory Scaling (-FS) is available as a no-charge option.

Mounting configurations allow for flush in panel or surface mounted installation. The enclosure provides NEMA 1 protection with an IP65 front bezel rating.

Key Product Differences

The series distinguishes between two primary input models:

  • iLD-UTP (Universal Temperature and Process): Supports Thermocouples, RTDs, DC voltage, and DC current inputs. Accuracy is ±0.5°C for temperature and ±0.03% reading for process.
  • iLD-SP (Strain Gage/Process): Optimized for Strain Gage and Process Voltage/Current inputs with an accuracy of 0.03% reading. This model supports optional excitation outputs of 5 Vdc @ 40 mA or 10 Vdc @ 60 mA in place of communication options.

Model numbers follow the format: iLD-UTP or iLD-SP - <Display Size> - <Control Outputs> - <Communication Options> - <Factory Scaling>. For example, a model with 2 relays and RS485 communication is designated iLD-UTP-33-C24.
