The Omega TCS-H-CB series comprises Integral Cable Sanitary Thermocouple Probes designed for use in Clean-In-Place (CIP) systems and sanitary processes. These sensors provide a millivolt signal proportional to temperature, utilizing ungrounded thermocouple elements with 316L stainless steel wetted surfaces finished to 32 microinch or better.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within a process temperature range of -50 to 200°C (-58 to 392°F). Accuracy is specified as Special Limits of Error, varying by thermocouple type. The standard response time for the heavy-duty probe design is listed in supporting documentation as 3 seconds max (63%). Wetted materials consist of 316L SS with a surface finish of 32 μin or better.
Configuration Options
The TCS-H-CB series offers configurable options for probe length, thermocouple calibration type, and cable configuration to accommodate specific sanitary installation requirements.
- Thermocouple Types: Available in Type J (Iron/Constantan), Type K (Chromel/Alumel), Type T (Copper/Constantan), or Type E (Chromel/Constantan).
- Process Connection: Standard 1½" 16 AMP Tri-Grip™ fitting, compatible with Tri-Clamp® systems.
- Probe Dimensions: Features a heavy-duty design with a stepped probe stem. The sheath diameter is ⅜", stepping down to ⅜" at the probe tip. Standard probe lengths include 3", 4", 5", and 6"; custom lengths longer than 6" are available (e.g., 9¼" or 12").
- Electrical Connection: Integral cable with nylon clamp, standard length of 10' (120") PFA insulated and jacketed #24 AWG thermocouple cable. Includes molded strain relief and stripped leads.
- Cable Length Options: Configurable lengths include the standard 10' (120"), with variants available for other lengths such as 20' (240") or custom requirements per model number suffix.
