Supported Applications

The Omega OMEGALUX® CIR series consists of high watt density cartridge heaters with an Incoloy sheath. These units are designed for applications involving molds, dies, platens, hot plates, and sealing operations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The CIR-34 series features a ¾" diameter (Actual Diameter & Tolerance: 0.747" ± 0.005) with an overall length ranging from 57 to 1219 mm (2¼ to 48"). The Incoloy sheath includes a black oxide finish for efficient heat transfer and supports a maximum temperature of 816°C (1500°F). Construction is described as shock and vibration resistant, with welded, sealed tips.

Power supply options are limited to 120 or 240 Vac. Voltage must be specified at the time of order; model numbers containing "120" or "240" indicate availability only in that specific voltage. Unit weight varies by model from 0.18 to 3.70 lb.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable dimensions and electrical parameters across a broad range of SKUs, including variations in sheath length, wattage, watts per square inch (W/in²), and voltage. Key configuration details include:

  • Sheath Material: Incoloy with black oxide finish.
  • Diameter: ¾" OD (0.747" ± 0.005).
  • Lengths: Available from 2¼ to 48 inches (57 to 1219 mm).
  • Voltage: 120 Vac or 240 Vac.
  • Electrical Connection: Type "F" stranded, flexible manganese nickel wire insulated with fiberglass. Standard lead length is 14", with longer leads available upon request.
  • Connector: Patented connector designed for high reliability and longer life.

Note: The ¾" diameter CIR series cartridge heaters utilize 10 AWG stranded lead wire. Approvals include UL Component Listed and CSA Certified status.

Key Product Differences

The model number guide follows the format CIR- - - - . For example, CIR-5023/240 represents a cartridge heater with a 2½" sheath, 200 watts, 45 W/in², and 240 Vac. Variations in the series are distinguished by specific combinations of insertion length (sheath length), power rating, watt density, and operating voltage.
