Supported Applications

The Omega HX300A Series consists of wall-mount transmitters designed for industrial environments requiring fast, stable, and accurate measurements. The series employs a highly stable thin-film polymer capacitor to sense relative humidity and a high-accuracy, thin-film RTD (PT100 Ω) compliant with IEC 751 and DIN 43760 standards to accurately sense temperature.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The HX300A Series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F). Measurement capabilities include a humidity range of 0 to 100% RH @ 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) and a temperature measurement range of 0 to 100°C (32 to 212°F).

Performance specifications at 25°C include an accuracy of ±2.5% RH, ±0.3°C with long-term stability better than 1% RH per year (typical). The response time is <15 seconds (90% @ 25°C in moving air at 0.5 m/sec), and temperature compensation is rated at 0.008% RH/°C (effect @ 05 RH).

The unit features a sintered filter for sensor protection and utilizes an ABS plastic watertight enclosure to NEMA 4 (IP65). Electrical connections are provided via liquid-tight nylon cable bushing fitting 5 to 10 mm dia. (0.2 to 0.4") cables.

Key Specifications

 • Housing: ABS plastic watertight enclosure to NEMA 4 (IP65)
 • Sensors - Humidity: Thin-film capacitor
 • Sensors - Temperature: RTD PT100 Ω, IEC 751, DIN 43760
 • Weight: Approx 150 g (5.3 oz)
 • Approvals/Certifications: CE, NIST-traceable calibration available via CAL-3-HU accessory

Configuration Options

The series supports multiple output configurations and sensor combinations to address specific monitoring needs. Power supply requirements are 12 to 40 Vdc (24 Vdc recommended).

Output Signals

 • Current Output: 4 to 20 mA, 2-wire with ±15% scalable zero and span adjustment.
 • Voltage Output: 0 to 1 V (primary series specification).

Sensor Configurations

 • Humidity only models (HX302A family)
 • Temperature and Humidity combined models (HX303A family)

Accessories & Options

The series is offered with various power supply options including:

 • PSR-24S: Regulated power supply, US plug, 90 to 264 Vac input, 24 Vdc output, 400 mA, screw terminals, UL.
 • PSR-24L: Regulated power supply, US plug, 90 to 264 Vac input, 24 Vdc output, 400 mA, stripped leads, UL.
 • PSR-24L-230: Regulated power supply, European plug, 230 Vac input, 24 Vdc output, 400 mA, stripped leads, CE.
 • PSU-93: Unregulated power supply, 16 to 23 Vdc, 300 mA max, screw terminal.

Key Product Differences

The HX300A Series is differentiated by sensor type and output signal format. The model number guide follows the pattern: HX300A - <MODEL> - <OUTPUT TYPE>.

 • HX302AC: Wall mount RH transmitter, 4 to 20 mA current output.
 • HX302AV: Wall mount RH transmitter, 0 to 1 voltage output.
 • HX303AC: Wall mount RH/temperature transmitter, 4 to 20 mA current outputs.
 • HX303AV: Wall mount RH/temperature transmitter, 0 to 1 voltage outputs.

Is this safe to use in a commercial combi-oven for creating jerky? I need to record the percentage of humidity and temperature. Oven temperature would be no more than 170F and can generate its own steam.

Is there a more extensive manual for the HX303AV model? This a jumper on it to change the output range to 0 to 5V but that is not mentioned in the online manual. I'm seeing 0.4V for ambient temp reading and 0.9V for RH. Seems wrong?

Asked by: Spacepope
Thank you for the inquiry. Manual for the HX303A; https://assets.omega.com/manuals/M5072.pdf. For more trouble shooting assistance please forward email to TEMP@OMEGA.COM. Best regards OMEGA

the data that I am getting to my PLC is not coming through as a percentage but rather a 4 digit number. Is there a formula that I need to apply to the data to get the information that I need? I doubt 2894 is the correct RH. Any help is greatly appreciated

Asked by: James667
Hi James, You'll need to check the PLC scaling and adjust as needed. The 4 to 20 mA outputs of the HX303AC are scaled to represent 0 to 100 % RH and 0 to 100 C. Best regards OMEGA
