Supported Applications

The Dwyer Series HS Humidity Switch provides control for humidifying or dehumidifying systems. The microprocessor-based unit displays relative humidity, output status, and error messaging on a bright green LED.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 32 to 158°F (0 to 70°C) with storage temperatures from -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C). The front panel carries an IP64 rating. Measurement ranges depend on the input type: 0 to 1 V and 4-20 mA inputs support a relative humidity range of 0 to 100%, while THC-P probe inputs cover 20 to 90%. Accuracy is specified as ±1% RH for HS operation and ±5% @ 20 to 90% when using the THC-P probe. The unit features a 3-digit, green display with 1/2" (12.7 mm) digits and 1 digit resolution.

Configuration Options

The Series HS supports multiple input configurations including 0-1 V, 4-20 mA, or a THC-P probe (3 V). Control is provided via an ON/OFF function with a 16 A SPDT relay output rated at 250 VAC resistive. Horsepower ratings are listed as 1/3 HP in the manual and 1 HP in the data sheet specifications.

Power requirements vary by model, available as 115 VAC or 230 VAC depending on the specific unit selected (e.g., HS-311 for 115 VAC, HS-312 for 230 VAC). The series includes nonvolatile memory backup and password protection to lock access to programming parameters.

Configurable user-defined parameters include:

• SP Set point: Range r1 to r2 (default 50%)
• r0 Differential or hysteresis: 1 to 20% (default 1)
• d0 Humidifying/dehumidifying control: Option dH/Hu (default dH)
• c0 Min. load stop time: 0 to 59 Minutes
• c1 Continuous cycle time: 0 to 24 Hours
• P1 Input value adjustment: -10 to 10%
• H5 Access code: Value 0 to 255

Mounting requires a panel cutout of 2.80 x 1.14 inches (71 x 29 mm). The unit includes a fitting clip, gasket, and rear terminal cover.

Key Product Differences

The series is offered in specific model configurations based on supply power:

• HS-311: 115 VAC supply
• HS-312: 230 VAC supply

The THC-P accessory is a humidity probe with a 3 V output and a 4' (1.2 m) cable. Probe cable length must not exceed 328 ft (100 m). Agency approvals include CE, UL, and cURus.
