Supported Applications

The Omega FTB3000 series consists of positive displacement flowmeters designed for measuring clean liquids with a maximum particle size of .125" (3.175 mm). The oval rotor principle provides high accuracy and exceptional repeatability across wide ranges of viscosities, specifically fluids greater than 100 cstk or centistokes. These meters are suitable for both gravity feed and pump (in-line) applications due to their low pressure drop and standard operating pressure rating of 3000 psig.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The FTB3000 series delivers an accuracy of ±0.25% of reading with a repeatability of ±0.05%. Operating temperature limits vary by sensor configuration: the magnetic pick-up supports -268 to 232°C (-450 to 450°F), while the Hall Effect option operates from -40 to 150°C (-40 to 302°F). The series is calibrated via a ten-point calibration traceable to NIST at 100 Centistokes. Wetted parts consist of a 316 SS body and gears with PEEK gear seats, supported by shielded, self-lubricating 440SS ball bearings.

Configuration Options

The series offers configurable sensor types to match specific flow ranges and power requirements. Standard process connections are provided as 1" MNPT STD, with flange fittings available upon consultation. Key configuration options include:

• Sensor Types: Magnetic pick-up or Hall Effect (requires 6 to 24 Vdc).
• Flow Ranges: 0.02 to 25 gpm for Hall Effect models; 2 to 25 gpm linear range with magnetic coil.
• Housing Material: 316 Stainless Steel construction.
• Power Supply Options: External 24 Vdc power supply (U24Y101) available as an accessory for Hall Effect models.

The unit weight is listed at 7.53 kg (16.6 lb). The K-factor, expressed in pulses per gallon, varies by actual flow and is printed on the individual unit; a reference value of @460 pulses per gallon is noted for selection context.

Key Product Differences

The FTB3000 series distinguishes between two primary model numbers based on sensor technology and minimum measurable flow:

• FTB3001: Equipped with a magnetic pick-up, covering a linear flow range of 2 to 25 GPM. Operating temperature is -240 to 176°C (-400 to 350°F).
• FTB3002: Features a Hall Effect sensor requiring 6 to 24 Vdc, extending the measurable range down to 0.02 GPM (full range 0.02 to 25 GPM). Operating temperature is -40 to 150°C (-40 to 302°F).
