Supported Applications
The Omega HT-KIT series comprises U Series Heat Trace Power Connection, End Seal, and Splice Kits designed for connecting SRL, SRP, SRM/E, and CWM heating cables to customer-supplied wiring. These kits support applications including freeze protection, piping process temperature maintenance, and fluid flow and viscosity maintenance.
The series is engineered for use with self-regulating, constant wattage, mineral insulated, and series long line heating cables in both ordinary areas and hazardous (classified) locations where appropriate approvals are met.
Operating Conditions & Performance
Kits feature a liquid-tight design to prevent moisture from reaching electrical connections. The housing is molded of durable polyphenylene sulfide plastic material with stainless steel hardware, rated NEMA 4X for environmental protection.
- Ambient Temperature: -40°F to 160°F (-40°C to 71°C) for UAS and UBC thermostats; -40°F to 400°F (-40°C to 200°C) for the UBC Line-Sensing Thermostat.
- Maximum Pipe Temperature: 482°F (250°C).
Certified minimum cable exposure temperatures are -60°C (-76°F) for SRL and SRM/E cables, with a certified installation temperature of -40°C (-40°F). The series supports hazardous area approvals including ATEX, IECEx, FM, and CSA. Specific certifications include Class I, Div. 2 Groups A*, B, C, D; Class II, Div. 2 Groups E*, F, G; and Class III, Div. 2.

- Hazardous Areas: Factory Mutual (FM) Approved and CSA certified for ordinary areas; ATEX, IECEx, FM, and CSA approved for hazardous locations.

Configuration Options
The HT-KIT series offers a range of configurations for power connections, end seals, and monitoring. Kits provide water-resistant cable entry with terminal blocks and grommets suitable for self-regulating and constant wattage cables.
Kits and Enclosures
- UPC: Power Connection Box (9.78"H x 4.78"W x 3.6"D).
- UMC: Multiple Entry Connection Box (9.78"H x 8.69"W x 3.6"D).
- UES: Above Insulation End Seal Kit (5.5"H x 2.75"W x 2.25"D).
- RTES: Under Insulation End Seal Kit (1.25"H x 1.75"W x 2"D).
- UESL / UESL-G: RED and GREEN End Seal Signal Light Kits (7"H x 3.25"W x 3.25"D).
Sensors and Thermostats
- UAS: Ambient-Sensing Thermostat with a stainless steel sheath probe (9/16" diameter, 3" insertion length).
- UBC: Line-Sensing Thermostat.
- USL: Signal Light Kit included in UPC configurations.
Mechanical Accessories and Mounting
The series includes mechanical components for securing cables to piping systems. Compression fittings, locknuts, and conduit hubs (CCH-2 or equal) are provided for 3/4" conduit connections.
- Small Pipe Adapter: SPA available for pipes under 1-1/2" diameter.
- Pipe Straps: PS Series stainless steel pipe straps (PS-1, PS-3, PS-10).
- Cable Attachments: AT-1 Aluminum Tape and FT-3 Fiberglass Tape for securing cables to pipes or supports.
Key Product Differences
Variants within the HT-KIT series are distinguished by their function in the heat tracing circuit, enclosure size, and sensing capabilities. The UPC serves as a power connection box, while the UMC provides multiple entry points for monitor wire cables.
- End Seal Configurations: Kits differ based on installation location relative to insulation; UES is designed for above-insulation applications, whereas RTES is configured for under-insulation end sealing.
- Sensing Options: The series offers ambient sensing (UAS) versus line-sensing (UBC) thermostats. The UBC Line-Sensing Thermostat supports a higher operating temperature range (-40°F to 400°F / -40°C to 200°C) compared to the UAS Ambient-Sensing Thermostat.
- Signal Indication: Signal light kits (UESL RED, UESL-G GREEN) provide visual status indication for end seals.
The SSK Single Entry Sealing Kit requires a customer-supplied junction box that is NEMA 4X rated and certified by an appropriate third-party agency to maintain hazardous location ratings. All kits utilize stainless steel hardware and polyphenylene sulfide plastic housings, with specific dimensions varying by model function.
