Supported Applications

The Omega PCL819 is a handheld pressure calibrator featuring an integral electrically operated pneumatic pump. It combines high-performance measurement with portability to calibrate virtually any pressure device, including transmitters and switches. The series supports Gage and Absolute pressure measurements across multiple ranges. Additionally, the unit provides inputs for Current (mA), Voltage, Switch Contacts, and Temperature (RTD) calibration.

For extended range requirements beyond the internal sensor limits, the PCL819 is compatible with the PCL-PM series external pressure modules via a required adaptor. These external modules support ranges from 5 to 5000 psig as well as differential and compound configurations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The internal isolated pressure sensor delivers an accuracy of ±0.025% FS when operating between 15 to 35°C (59 to 95°F). Outside this temperature band, add 0.002%/°C to the uncertainty. The electrically operated pneumatic pump generates vacuum or pressure from -0.8 to 20 bar (-12 to 300 psi).

Electrical measurement performance includes:

• mA (simulation and measurement): ±0.015% of reading ±2 counts.
• Voltage (measurement only): ±0.015% of reading ±2 counts.
• Temperature: ±0.1°C (±0.2°C) for measurement only.

The unit operates in ambient temperatures from -10 to 50°C (14 to 122°F). Storage temperature is rated from -20 to 60°C (-4 to 140°F).

Power and Battery Life

The PCL819 is powered by 8 standard "AA" Alkaline batteries. Minimum battery life specifications are:

• 100 pump cycles to 300 psi.
• 1,000 cycles to 30 psi.

A rechargeable battery kit (PCL819-BATT-KIT) is available as an accessory option. The unit includes a 24 Vdc Loop Power Supply to power the Device Under Test.

Configuration Options

The PCL819 series offers configurable pressure ranges and measurement types through specific model variants:

• Gage Pressure Models:
• PCL819-30: -0.8 to 2 bar (-12 to 30 psi)
• PCL819-150: -0.8 to 10 bar (-12 to 150 psi)
• PCL819-300: -0.8 to 20 bar (-12 to 300 psi)
• Absolute Pressure Models:
• PCL819-30A: 0 to 2 bar (0 to 30 psi)
• PCL819-150A: 0 to 10 bar (0 to 150 psi)

Process connection is provided via a 1/8 NPT female port. Electrical connections utilize standard banana jacks for test leads, while RTD inputs use a 4 pin LEMO style connector and external modules connect via a 6 pin LEMO style interface.

Housing and Physical Specifications

The handheld unit measures 200 H x 100 W x 60 mm D (8 x 4 x 2 3/8") and weighs 1.2 kg (2.5 lb). The housing is contoured to fit a technician's hand with balanced weight distribution.
