Supported Applications

The Series 475 is an Intrinsically Safe Handheld Digital Manometer that measures positive, negative or differential pressures of air and compatible combustible gases, in ranges from 1 in w.c. to 150 psid. Dual push pads on the front panel control on/off, auto zero and pressure-unit selection, so operation is simple with no set-up required.

 • Portable field pressure measurement of air and compatible gases
 • Differential, positive and negative (gauge) pressure checks
 • Air velocity measurement when used with a Dwyer Pitot tube and the -AV kit

The manometer is FM approved to be intrinsically safe in hazardous locations, Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4 Ta = 70°C, and is CE compliant. It is built in a rugged aluminum case and reads out on a 4-digit LCD with 0.42" (10.6 mm) digits.

Operating Conditions & Performance

Accuracy is ±0.5% FS from 60 to 78°F (15.6 to 25.6°C), and ±1.5% FS across the wider bands of 32 to 60°F and 78 to 104°F. Pressure hysteresis is ±0.1% FS.

 • Operating temperature: 0 to 140°F (-17.8 to 60°C).
 • Compensated temperature range: 32 to 104°F (0 to 40°C).
 • Storage temperature: -4 to 176°F (-20 to 80°C).
 • Power: 9 V alkaline battery, installed non-functional and user replaceable.
 • Weight: 10.8 oz (306 g).

Process connections are two barbed connections for use with 1/8" (3.18 mm) or 3/16" (4.76 mm) ID tubing, plus two compression fittings for 1/8" (3.18 mm) ID x 1/4" (6.35 mm) OD tubing on the 475-7 and 475-8 only. Wetted materials are consult factory.

Configuration Options

Models differ by pressure range and by the maximum pressure the sensor can tolerate, letting the same handheld platform cover low inches-of-water-column readings up through high-psi work. Higher-range models add compression fittings for their higher working pressures.

 • Inches-water-column models (475-000 through 475-3) cover 0 to 1.000 in w.c. up to 0 to 200.0 in w.c., with maximum pressures from 5 psig to 30 psig.
 • PSI models (475-4 through 475-8) cover 0 to 10.00 psi up to 0 to 150.0 psi, with maximum pressures from 30 psig to 200 psig.
 • -AV air velocity kit adds static pressure tips (A-303), a pitot tube, an A-397 step drill and an A-532 air velocity slide chart for velocity measurement.
 • -NIST adds a NIST traceable calibration certificate.

Accessories include the A-402A tough gray nylon carrying case and the A-47X-BOOT protective magnetic rubber boot.

Key Product Differences

The model number is 475-<range>-FM. The range models and their maximum pressures are:

 • 475-000-FM — 0 to 1.000 in w.c.; max 5 psig.
 • 475-00-FM — 0 to 4.000 in w.c.; max 5 psig.
 • 475-0-FM — 0 to 10.00 in w.c.; max 5 psig.
 • 475-1-FM — 0 to 20.00 in w.c.; max 10 psig.
 • 475-2-FM — 0 to 40.00 in w.c.; max 10 psig.
 • 475-3-FM — 0 to 200.0 in w.c.; max 30 psig.
 • 475-4-FM — 0 to 10.00 psi; max 30 psig.
 • 475-5-FM — 0 to 20.00 psi; max 60 psig.
 • 475-6-FM — 0 to 30.00 psi; max 60 psig.
 • 475-7-FM — 0 to 100.0 psi; max 150 psig.
 • 475-8-FM — 0 to 150.0 psi; max 200 psig.

The -AV air velocity kit is offered on several ranges (for example 475-0-FM-AV, 475-00-FM-AV and 475-1-FM-AV).

Does it measure vacuum pressure? (ie are the pressure ranges given in absolute pressure, or gauge pressure?)

Asked by: AnnaS
Hello, These measure positive differential pressure in gauge pressure. They can read vacuum if it is applied to the low port with the high port left open to atmosphere.

Can it be used in steam service? (I am interested in this product for steam ejector troubleshooting. The low pressure port would be connected to the jet mixing chamber, which is majority steam under vacuum.)

Asked by: AnnaS
Hello, These units are not compatible with steam.

What is the reference temperature of the inches of water units?

Asked by: MitchH
Hello, Our calibration system that we use on the handheld manometers assumes a reference temperature of 20°C for inches of water column. It is also assumed at standard sea level conditions.
