Supported Applications
The Omega HHT13 is a precision hand-held multifunction Tachometer, Ratemeter, Totalizer, and Timer. It measures rotational speed using non-contact laser technology or contact methods via optional assemblies. The instrument displays directly in Revs, Inches, Feet, Yards, Miles, Centimeters, and Meters, or functions as a stopwatch or interval timer.
Input/output sockets support remote sensing configurations and pulse output to external indicating devices. For continuous operation, the unit can be set to "Locked-on" mode.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The HHT13 operates with a Class 2 laser (per IEC 60825-1 Ed 1.2 2001-8) emitting at a wavelength of 650 nm with a maximum output of 1mW and continuous pulse duration. The beam divergence is less than 1.5 mrad, with a typical beam diameter of 4 x 7 mm at 2 meters.
Non-contact measurement ranges include:
- RPM: 5 - 200,000
- RPS: 0.084 - 3,333.3
- RPH: 300-999,990
Accuracy is specified as ±0.01% of reading or resolution limit. Resolution options are Fixed at 1 (10 above 99,999) and Auto-ranging from 0.001 to 1.0 (10 above 99,999). The non-contact operating range extends up to 25 feet (7.62 m) or up to 70 degrees off perpendicular to a reflective tape target.
Contact measurement ranges using optional assemblies are:
- Range - Contact Tips: 0.5 to 20,000 RPM
- Range - 10 cm / 12-inch Wheel: 0.5 to 12,000 RPM
The device is powered by two 1.5V "AA" alkaline batteries and provides +3V Out to Sensor excitation.

Electrical connections utilize a 1/8" (3.5mm) stereo phone plug for input and a 1/8" (3.5mm) mono phone plug for output. The unit provides a 1 pulse per revolution TTL output on internal operation or acts as a pulse repeater with external sensors.
