Supported Applications

The DPi1701 Series is a graphic-display panel meter and data logger for temperature and process measurement, built for panel-mounted monitoring where operators need both a clear readout and a record of the trend over time. Its graphic display presents live values in context, while onboard data logging captures the process history for later review.

Accepting thermocouple, RTD, and process voltage or current inputs, the DPi1701 suits temperature monitoring on furnaces, ovens, and thermal processes as well as general process indication from transmitters and sensors. A USB port, RS232, and an optional wireless antenna make it well suited to logged data acquisition and remote monitoring, with relay output available for alarm or control signaling directly from the panel face.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The DPi1701 runs from a 90/240 Vac ±10%, 50-400 Hz supply and samples at four readings per second, with a thermocouple warm-up period of 45 minutes for full stability. Thermocouple accuracy is 0.5°C (0.9°F) for Types J, K, E, and T, and 1°C (1.8°F) or 0.5% of full scale for Types R and S, with a low thermocouple zero drift of 0.06°C per degree.

Thermocouple ranges cover the sensor spread from a Type J span of -100 to 760°C (-148 to 1400°F) and Type K up to -100 to 1260°C (-148 to 2300°F), through Type E at -200 to 849°C (-328 to 1560°F) and Type R and S reaching 100 to 1760°C (212 to 3200°F). The RTD input uses a 100 ohms platinum sensor over -200 to 850°C (-328 to 1562°F) with 0.5°C (0.9°F) accuracy, and process inputs accept 0 to 10 Vdc or 0 to 20 mA and 4 to 20 mA at 0.1% of reading.

The meter operates over an ambient range of 0 to 50°C (32 to 122°F) at 90% RH non-condensing, in a housing measuring 48H x 96W x 118mm D with a NEMA-1/Type 1 front bezel. It is UL and cUL recognized and RoHS 2 compliant.

Configuration Options

The DPi1701 Series is offered as a single, fully featured configuration, so every unit shares the same graphic display, universal thermocouple/RTD/process input set, and onboard data logging rather than being split into feature tiers.

The capability that defines the shipping model is its connectivity: the meter combines a USB port and RS232 with the wireless antenna option, so the unit is delivered as a USB-equipped, wireless-ready data logger rather than as separate basic and connected variants.

Key Product Differences

The series is represented by a single ordering model that bundles the display, logging, and connectivity capabilities together:

  • DPI1701-USB-R — Graphic-display temperature and process panel meter and data logger with USB port and the wireless antenna option.

Because the input stage is universal, this one model covers thermocouple, RTD, and process voltage or current measurement without requiring input-specific part numbers, and it terminates power, relay output, and each sensor type through its dedicated connection block.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great at a TC analog out Works great at a thermocouple to analog out converter. Only puts out 0 to +10v so haven't figured out how to use in the negative range with the MTS flextext equipment yet. Easy to setup
