Series 5 General Purpose Thermocouples are low cost and offered in a variety of configurations. Tip temperatures can be as high as 450°C (842°F) for fiberglass insulated wire, or 200°C (392°F) for FEP insulated wire. For higher temperatures limits, or cover head assemblies, see Series 8 Mineral Insulated Thermocouples.
