Supported Applications
The Omega PX51-IS series consists of general purpose, intrinsically safe pressure transmitters designed for hazardous location installations. These heavy-duty industrial pressure transducers feature a rugged thick film sensing element and all stainless steel construction with a sealed case intended for harsh environments.
Documented media compatibility includes gas, light oil, and dense liquid applications. The series supports gage (G), absolute (A), and sealed gage (SG) pressure measurements across Imperial and Metric configurations.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The PX51-IS transmitters operate within an ambient temperature range of -40 to 104°C (-40 to 220°F). Measurement ranges span from 0 to 10 psi up to 0 to 30,000 psi for Imperial models and 0 to 0.7 bar up to 0 to 400 bar for Metric models.
Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±0.25% FS (Combined Linearity, Hysteresis and Repeatability). The burst pressure rating is specified as 3x Range. Wetted materials are constructed from 17-4 Stainless Steel. All models come complete with a 5-point NIST traceable calibration.
For intrinsically safe installations in hazardous locations, the series adheres to specific electrical parameters: Supply Voltage (Voc or Vt) ≤ 28 VDC; Short Circuit Current (Isc or It) ≤ 110 mA; Maximum Power (Pmax) ≤ 0.77 W; Capacitance (Co) ≥ 48.0 nF + Ccable; and Inductance (Lo) ≥ 0.00 uH + Lcable.

Output Signals & Power Requirements
The series supports three output signal types:
- I: 4 to 20 mA output (Excitation Voltage: 10 to 32 Vdc max)
- 5V: 0 to 5 Vdc output (Excitation Voltage: 16 to 32 Vdc max; OUTPUT (-) tied to SUPPLY (-))
- 10V: 0 to 10 Vdc output (Excitation Voltage: 16 to 32 Vdc max)
The housing material is all stainless steel with an overall length of 75.57 mm [2.98 in] and a diameter of 28.58 mm [1.125 in]. EMC compliance supports up to 30 m (98.4') of cable.
Key Product Differences
The PX51-IS series is available as Imperial models (PX51) and Metric models (PXM51). Model numbers follow the structure: PX51/PXM51 - <PRESSURE PORT> - <ELECTRICAL CONNECTION> - <RANGE> - <UNITS> - <OUTPUT> - <OPTIONS>.
Standard configurations include potentiometers. To order models without potentiometers, add the 'NP' suffix to the model number (e.g., PX51C0-1.5KGC2ISNP). Sealed gage pressure models are ordered by replacing 'G' in the units position with 'SG', and absolute pressure models are ordered by replacing 'G' with 'A'; no extra charge applies for these variations.
For PTIH-10-6P twist-lock connector configurations, the mating connector part number is PT06F10-6S (sold separately).

What is the response rate of the pressure transducer. We would like at least 1kilohertz. We usually buy Drucks with 3kHz response.
Thank you for your inquiry, this unit has a 1 millisecond response time

Do the nameplates on these units include the words "single seal" or "dual seal"? If not, then we'd need to utilize a separate secondary process seal for compliance with NEC 501.17. Thanks.
Our device does not rely on a seal, they are fully welded, there is no path that relies on a seal to prevent the process fluid from reaching the electronics of the device, so no additional sealing is required.
In addition, The construction has many fails safes in addition to being separated by welded material. In the event of the MEMS device failing, an overload surface restrains the stainless still diaphragm from rupturing.

Do you have a barrier that is known to work or has been tested with the Intrinsically Safe version?
Thank you for your inquiry. We do not offer any intrinsically safe barriers for a 4 to 20mA output device. You will have to source a barrier from a supplier of this type of product.

Does this device have any sort of overpressure rating? Thanks.
Thank you for your inquiry. Safe overpressure rating is 150% of the rated pressure range. Burst pressure rating is 300% of the rated range
