Product Overview
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good MFC but poor customer support Beware!! they don't sell it with power cable so make sure you buy it! The technical support person is not thorough and will try not to understand your needs. The return policy is also not good. However, it is a good MFC with precise control.

We required Flow controllers for Methane gas & flow is 34LPM & second one for Propane gas 350 Liter per hours. Kindly suggest us your best module for the same.

Asked by: GB Velekar
Thank you for your inquiry about the mass fow controllers. It would be recommended to use the FMA5528A for methane gas and FMA5520A for propane gas and will need to create a customized part number for the flow controllers mentioned and then, have it loaded onto the web site to prepare a quote.

Hello, I'm looking for a flow controller that can handle flows (CO/Nitrogen mix) of around 200-300 ml/min with an accuracy of plus/minus 2%. Can you suggest something ?

Asked by: GasLab
Thank you for your inquiry. The FMA5512A is the controller that will fit the flow range and can have it calibrated specifically for the percentage mixture of gas by weight or by volume. Please note that in the event the composition changes during the reaction, the controller is not able to compensate for the changes that occurr.

I need to set flow rates, but I don't see a way to key in my settings, so how exactly this works? I have a FMA5518A-C

Asked by: Henry Z
Thank you for your inquiry! The flow rate can be controlled through either locally or remotely depending on preference. Local control requires the use of the local set point potentiometer on the back of the unit. For remote control 0-5 VDC or 4-20 mA reference signals will be needed to adjust the flow.

Does the FMA5400A/5500A both measure and control flow rate? Or will I need two separate products?

Asked by: Travis_ASML
Thank you for your inquiry for the mass flow controller. First, it is advised to use as a controller to control the gas and can be used as a flow meter, in the event that you do not have the means to measure flow rate only. You can use the override Purge on PINS 3 & 4 for 15 minutes at a time and this is due to the cylinder becoming hot and needs to cool down to the touch.

I have an FMA5508A-ST MFC with me and I have used it with many gases like Ar, He, etc. I wanted to know is it compatible with water vapors? I wanted to use around 10% water vapor in Ar for my experiments. Thanks in advance.

Asked by: Anand
Thank you for your inquiry about the MFC. Unfortunately, the MFC work best with clean, dry gases and can sustain relative humidity, non-condensing gases, up to 70%.

I have FMA5502A on hand but there is no instructions on how to use the potentiostat on the back to adjust the flow rate, or set the identity of the gas (we want to use this for CO2). Do you have detailed instructions on this?

Asked by: ALGU
Thank you for your inquiry about the MFC. If manually controlling the flow via the potenitometer, clock-wise turn is increasing the flow rate and counter clock-wise would decrease the flow rate and it may take a number of 360 degree turns to reach the desire flow via the LCD display. The manual has a chart listing a number of different gases that can be used to control and along with a K-factor associated to multiply against the flow rate on the LCD that will account for that specific gas.
