Supported Applications
The Omega EchoPulse® LR20 Series is a non-contact, general-purpose pulse radar sensor designed for continuous liquid level measurement in chemical storage and process tanks. The series operates at 26 GHz to provide reliable performance under challenging conditions including corrosive media, light surface foam or agitation, condensation, and vapor.
Documented applications include:
- Aggressive liquids under extremely difficult process conditions
- Tanks constructed of any material (metal or non-metal)
Operating Conditions & Performance
The LR20 Series provides a measurement range from 12" to 65.6' (30cm to 20m) with an accuracy of ± 3mm. The sensor features a dead band of 12" (30cm). Process temperature limits are F: -40° to 302°, C: -40° to 150°. Storage temperature is rated for F: -40° to 176°, C: -40° to 80°.
Pressure ratings span from -14.5 to 72 psi (-1 to 5 bar). The enclosure rating is IP67 with an aluminum housing and silicone gasket. Power supply requirements are 16-26 VDC, with a maximum consumption of 22.5 mA.

Configuration Options
The LR20 Series is configured via an integral push-button display module featuring a dot matrix LCD. The display supports units in feet and meters, shows percent of span as a bar graph, and includes an Echo signal curve view.
- Process Connections: Flange mount options include 3" ANSI flange (-30) or 4" ANSI flange (-40).
- Antenna Material: 316L SS with PTFE inner shield.
- Output Signal: Standard 4-20 mA, two-wire; invertible to 4-20 mA, 20-4 mA. Fail-safe settings include 3.9 mA, 20.5 mA, or 22 mA.
- Electrical Connection: Conduit entrance includes (1) ½" NPT connector and (1) M20 x 1.5 plug.

Key Product Differences
Variants within the LR20 Series are distinguished by flange size and corresponding beam angle:
- -30 Model (LR20-0310-30): Features a 3" ANSI flange with a 12° beam angle. Overall dimension B is 7.5" (190.5mm) and D is 6.5" (165mm).
- -40 Model: Features a 4" ANSI flange with an 8° beam angle. Overall dimension B is 9.0" (228.6mm) and D is 8.0" (203mm).
