Supported Applications
The Omega TC-WELD Series Fine Wire and Thermocouple Welder is designed for producing commercial grade thermocouple hot junctions. The device supports welding fine wires, including thermocouple wires, with a diameter range of 0.08mm to 1.1mm.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TC-WELD operates on an input power supply of 90-260 VAC / 50-60 Hz and features an energy output range of 0 to 60 joules. Power consumption is rated at a maximum of 120 VA, dropping to 10 VA during charging. The unit supports a duty cycle of 5-10 welds per minute.
Welding capability covers wire diameters from 0.08mm / 0.003" to 1.1mm / 0.043". An argon input port is provided via a 6mm (1/4") Push Connection, with a recommended maximum flow rate of 6 liter / minute.
Configuration Options
The TC-WELD Series includes specific accessories and components to facilitate operation:
- Power Cord
- Foot Switch for argon flow control
- Bonding Carbon Electrode
- Bonding Copper Electrode
- Safety Glasses
- Spare Fuse (2 amps rating only)
- Removable Plier with Lead
The unit dimensions are 220 (W) x 100 (H) x 270 (D) mm, and the weight is 3.6 kg / 7.94lbs.
Key Product Differences
The series includes specific power output level recommendations based on wire diameter:
- 20AWG (0.80mm): Power Output Level 16-17, Carbon Electrode
- 28AWG (0.32mm): Power Output Level 5-6, Carbon Electrode
- 30AWG (0.25mm): Power Output Level 5-6, Carbon Electrode
- 36AWG (0.13mm): Power Output Level 5-6, Copper Electrode
- 40AWG (0.08mm): Power Output Level 4-5, Copper Electrode
The TC-WELD holds CE Approval under the Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC and 2015/35/EU) with Verification No: T1507055-507. Input specifications are listed as 100-240Vac, 50-60Hz, 0.5A, Class I; output is rated at 22-55Vdc, 50W max.

Unit works well, back feet we loose and installed backward. Hose fitting leaked . Fitting had to be removed and have Teflon tape added to the fitting to stop the leak. To panel screw heads are nearly stripped. All fixed except screws as that is cosmetic.

spare fuse: INFORM TYPE OF FUSE AND MAXIMUM SUPPORTED VOLTAGE junction carbon electrode: IS IT A CARBON COATED ELECTRODE, OR IS IT A 100% CARBON ELECTRODE? bonding copper electrode: IS IT COPPER COVERED ELECTRODE, OR IS IT 100% COPPER ELECTRODE?
Hi Solder458,
Thank you for the inquiry. Fuse is 2 A, 260 VAC. Electrodes are solid carbon and solid copper respectively.
Best regards

I'm interested in buttwelding Type C thermocouple wires down to 40 AWG. Will that be possible with the TC-Weld?
Thank you for the inquiry. Type C wire to 40 awg has been welded as common point style. Welding tip to tip in butt weld configuration is too difficult due to the fine wire.
Best regards,
OMEGA

What is the difference between the TL-WELD and the TC-WELD?
Thank you for the inquiry. The new TC-Weld includes carbon and copper electrodes. Copper electrode is useful for very fine wire welding ( 36 and 40 awg wire ). TL-Weld relies on carbon electrode only.
