Supported Applications

The Omega XBPT series comprises Feed-Through Spring Cage Terminal Blocks designed for vibration-resistant, gas-tight electrical connections in industrial control panels and DIN rail assemblies. The space-saving front entry design facilitates simple wiring in tight spaces where standard screw terminals may be difficult to access.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series supports cross-sections from 0.25 to 35 mm², with specific performance ratings varying by model family. The spring cage connection system provides a vibration-proof interface where the wire and screwdriver enter in parallel; removing the screwdriver automatically closes the terminal contact.

Ratings per standard vary by model:

• IEC 60947-7-1 Ratings range from 800 V/32 A (XBPT25) to 800 V/125 A (XBPT35).
• EN 50019 Ratings range from 550 V/25 or 21 A (XBPT25) to 750 V/108 A (XBPT35).
• UL-cUL Ratings range from 600 V/20 A (XBPT25) to 600 V/115 A (XBPT35).

Configuration Options

The XBPT series is available in six distinct terminal widths corresponding to wire size capacities, with configurable colors and accessory options.

• X B P T 2 5 Series: Terminal Width 5.2 mm (0.21"); Wire Size 28 to 12 AWG; Max Load Current 31 A / 4 mm².
• X B P T 4 Series: Terminal Width 6.2 mm (0.24"); Wire Size 28 to 10 AWG; Max Load Current 40 A / 6 mm².
• X B P T 6 Series: Terminal Width 8.2 mm (0.32"); Wire Size 24 to 8 AWG; Max Load Current 52 A / 10 mm².
• X B P T 1 0 Series: Terminal Width 10.2 mm (0.40"); Wire Size 24 to 6 AWG; Max Load Current 65 A / 16 mm².
• X B P T 1 6 Series: Terminal Width 12 mm (0.47"); Wire Size 24 to 4 AWG; Max Load Current 90 A / 25 mm².

Housing colors include Gray, Blue, White, Red, and Black depending on the series. The double bridge shaft supports chain bridging and step-down bridging configurations.

Available Accessories

The following accessories are offered to support installation and maintenance:

• Bridges: Plug-in bridges for 2, 3, 5, 10, or 50 positions (e.g., XBAFBS25 through XBAFBS506) including cross-connection variants.
• DIN Rails: Slotted and solid rails in dimensions 35 x 7.5 mm and 35 x 15 mm, length 2 m (e.g., XBANS3575P/U).
• Miscellaneous Hardware: Gray end covers (XBACPT series), partition plates (XBATPT4), test adaptors (XBATSPA14), white blank marker strips for external or center labeling, and various end stops (XBAES35C/T/N).

Key Product Differences

Variants within the series are distinguished primarily by terminal width, maximum wire size capacity, and color coding. The XBPT25 series offers five colors (Gray, Blue, White, Red, Black), while larger series such as XBPT4 through XBPT35 typically offer Gray and Blue options in standard configurations.

Connection capacities differ based on ferrule type:

• X B P T 2 5 supports stranded wire with ferrules from 0.25 to 2.5 mm².
• X B P T 4 through X B P T 16 support stranded wire with ferrules up to their respective maximum cross-sections (e.g., XBPT16 supports 0.25 to 16 mm²).
• X B P T 3 5 requires a minimum of 2.5 mm² for stranded connections.

Stripping lengths vary by series, ranging from 10 mm (0.39") for XBPT25 and XBPT4 to 25 mm (0.98") for the XBPT35.
