Supported Applications

The Omega AMHS Series consists of NEMA 4X hole plugs designed for plugging existing unwanted holes in metallic and non-metallic electrical enclosures. These components are intended to seal openings created by pilot lights, push buttons, and conduit fittings.

 • Sealing unused openings in fiberglass (non-metallic) enclosures
 • Maintaining enclosure integrity on steel (metallic) panels
 • Closing holes for standard trade sizes including ¼" to 4" conduit and pushbutton/pilot light apertures

Operating Conditions & Performance

The AMHS Series is rated NEMA 4X, providing protection against water ingress and corrosion. The plugs are constructed from Polycarbonate with a neoprene/EPDM gasket to ensure a secure seal.

 • Enclosure Rating: NEMA 4X
 • Housing Material: Polycarbonate with neoprene/EPDM gasket
 • Approvals/Certifications: CSA, UL, RoHS
 • Enclosure Wall Thickness Compatibility: 1.5 to 6.3 mm (0.059 to 0.250")

The series supports simple one-hand installation via a three-step process: push in the plug, twist and lock self-centering fins, then screw the hand-tight nut.

Configuration Options

The AMHS Series offers configurable options for color matching specific enclosure materials and covers a wide range of standard hole diameters. Model numbers follow the format AMHS - <COLOR> - <TRADE SIZE REF>.

Color Options

 • Light Grey (RAL 7035): Designed for use in fiberglass enclosures.
 • Dark Grey (ANSI 61): Designed for metal enclosures. Available as a suffix (-GY) or default finish depending on the model series.

Hole Size Coverage

The series covers trade sizes from pilot lights up to 4" conduit, with specific models addressing distinct enclosure hole diameter ranges:

 • Pilot Light (AMHSPL-S): 12.7 to 15.8 mm (0.500 to 0.624")
 • Pilot Light (AMHSPL): 15.9 to 20.6 mm (0.625 to 0.812")
 • ¼" Conduit / 22 mm Pushbutton: 20.7 to 23.8 mm (0.812 to 0.937")
 • ¾" Conduit / 30 mm Pushbutton: 25.4 to 33.3 mm (1.000 to 1.312")
 • Conduit Sizes: Models available for 1", 1¼", 1½", 2", 2½", 3", 3½", and 4" conduit trade sizes.

Key Product Differences

Variants within the AMHS Series are distinguished by their target hole diameter range, color finish, and specific application (conduit vs. pushbutton/pilot light).

 • Pilot Light Models: The AMHSPL-S covers smaller diameters (12.7 to 15.8 mm), while the standard AMHSPL addresses slightly larger openings (15.9 to 20.6 mm).
 • Dual-Application Models: Specific models such as AMHS050 and AMHS075 are sized for both conduit fittings and pushbutton diameters (e.g., ¼" conduit/22 mm or ¾" conduit/30 mm).
 • Larger Conduit Models: From the 1" size upward, models correspond strictly to standard conduit trade sizes.

I need to seal a hole in a fiberglass hot tub where the light fixture was; it is broken and not available. The 5" should cover the hole. Is this suitable for hot tubs?

Asked by: Papadoc3
Thank you for your inquiry. This hole plug is designed for electrical enclosures only and is not water tight. Not recommended or tested for hot tubs.

I need a plug to fill a 2" diameter hole. Is the diameter in the product description, the hole diameter or the outer diameter of the plug. Thanks

Asked by: Bruce the moose
Hello Bruce In the product description mentioned above, that is the diameter of the hole it can cover. Looking at the table on the second page of the data sheet, find the range of the diameter hole size you mentioned under the 'Enclosure Hole Dia. Range' column, it will show you the two part numbers (one light, one dark grey) that will work with it.

I am looking to plug a 4in. hole in a wooden board. Can only access from one side. Will this work?

Asked by: First home lessons
Thank you for your inquiry. These hole plugs are designed for electrical enclosures with a wall thickness maximum of 1/4 inch and both sides must be accessed. Not recommended for a wooden board and will not work.
