Supported Applications

The Omega LVC-152 series consists of economical capacitance level switches designed for the reliable detection of conductive, light to medium coating liquids. The unique coating circuit rejects negative effects from coating or scaling build-up. These submersible sensors are constructed entirely of plastic with Polypropylene (PP) materials, making them suitable for corrosive environments in tanks and sumps.

According to the application matrix, the LVC-152 series is compatible with:

  • Foam
  • Bubbles
  • Conductive liquids
  • Translucent or opaque media
  • Clean and turbulent conditions
  • Metallic and non-metallic tanks

The series is not indicated for non-conductive, dirty, heavy coating applications, or hazardous locations.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The LVC-152 operates within a process temperature range of -40 to 90°C (-40 to 194°F). The sensor and cable are rated NEMA 6X (IP68) for submersible operation. Pressure capability is specified as 150 psi @ 25°C (76°F), derated at 1.667 psi per °C above 25°C (76°F).

Performance specifications include an accuracy of ±1 mm (0.04") in water and repeatability of ±0.5 mm (0.02") in water. The device requires a power supply of 12 to 36 Vdc.

Installation Constraints

A critical installation requirement is that the sensor must not be installed within 15.24 cm (6") of any metal object.

Configuration Options

The LVC-152 series features a selectable output state, configurable as Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). The standard configuration includes an SPST relay contact and comes complete with a 3 m (10') cable. Extended cable lengths are available for special ordering: 7.62 m (25') by adding the suffix '-25' to the model number, or 15.24 m (50') by adding the suffix '-50'.
