Supported Applications

The Omega FL-9300 Series consists of rugged, low-cost direct reading industrial class flowmeters designed for oil and water applications. These variable area meters are constructed to handle a wide range of industrial chemicals while providing simple installation without the need for costly flow straighteners or special plumbing.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The series delivers an accuracy within ±5% of full scale with repeatability of ±1%. Standard scaling is calibrated for oil (0.876 specific gravity) and water (1.0 specific gravity). The meters operate across a process temperature range of 0 to 121°C (32 to 250°F), though models equipped with PVC fittings are limited to 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F).

Maximum pressure rating is 22.4 bar (325 psi). The units are relatively insensitive to shock and vibration, allowing mounting in any position from vertical to horizontal.

Measurement Ranges and Media

• Oil flowmeters: 2 to 25 GPM (10 to 95 LPM), 5 to 50 GPM (20 to 190 LPM), 7 to 75 GPM (30 to 280 LPM), and 10 to 100 GPM (40 to 380 LPM).
• Water flowmeters: Same range options as oil models.

Housing, Materials, and Connections

The body is constructed of high impact polysulfone plastic. Wetted materials include a polysulfone piston and cone, T300 stainless spring, buna flow indicator ring and pressure seals, polypropylene limit indicators, and C360 brass or PVC fittings.

• Port sizes: 1½ inch and 2 inch.
• Fitting types: FNPT brass (ANSI/ASME B1.20.1) or PVC socket.
• BSPP threads are available by adding "-BSP" to the model number at no additional cost (ISO228).

Optional Alarm Modules

Sold separately, optional flow switch modules provide electrical output for alarm or control functions. Enclosure ratings for these modules are NEMA 12 and 13 (IP65), with CE certification on specific models.

• Latching Relay: FL-9000-ACL (115 Vac ±10%) and FL-9000-DCL (10 to 30 Vdc) feature a 4-pin connector. Maximum current is 25 mA.
• Reed Switches: Form-A NO, Form-B NC, or Form-C configurations with a 0.92 m (3') long, 2-wire cable.

Key Product Differences

The series is divided into distinct model families based on media type and fitting material:

• Oil Flowmeters (FL-93xx/FL-97xx): Designed for oil with 0.876 specific gravity, available in 1½ FNPT brass or 2 FNPT brass fittings.
• Water Flowmeters Brass Fittings (FL-96xx/FL-98xx): Calibrated for water with 1.0 specific gravity, offered in 1½ FNPT brass or 2 FNPT brass configurations.
• Water Flowmeters PVC Socket (FL-99xx): Water-calibrated models featuring a 2 inch PVC socket connection; these units have the lower temperature limit of 0 to 60°C (32 to 140°F).
