Supported Applications
The Omega TXDIN1600S is a smart powered bridge amplifier designed for strain gauge and load cell signal conditioning. It functions as a DIN rail mount transmitter that scales input signals to process values, supporting applications requiring voltage or current re-transmission of sensor data.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The TXDIN1600S operates with an ambient temperature range of -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F) and a storage ambient range of -30 to 70°C (-22 to 158°F). Configuration is specified for an ambient environment of 10 to 30°C (50 to 86°F). The device maintains operation within a humidity rating of 10 to 90% RH (non condensing) and features an enclosure protection level of IP65.
Performance specifications include bridge input linearity of ± 0.01% and drift less than ± 0.05%. The device utilizes ratio metric measurement for high stability with a sample rate selectable at 10 or 80 SPS (samples per second). Output accuracy is defined as (mA out/2000) or 5 µA whichever is the greater, with a drift of 1 µA/°C. Voltage output accuracy is ± 5 mV.
Measurement and Signal Parameters
- Bridge Input: -7.6 to 7.6 mV/V (-38 to 38) mV at 5V excitation; Four wire radimetric type.
- Bridge Excitation: 5 Volts DC ± 0.1 V @ 59 mA, supporting total bridge impedance from 85 to 10000 Ω (operates with four 350 Ω cell in parallel).
- Response Time: Filter selectable from 1 to 20 seconds to reach 70% of final value.
Configuration Options
The TXDIN1600S series supports configurable output signals, calibration scaling, and user interface options. The device is housed in a DIN rail enclosure (style DIN 43880) constructed from Polyimide 6.6 with dimensions of 56.4 mm width x 90 mm height x 17.5 mm depth.
Output Signal Options
- Current Source: Range (0 to 21.5) mA, max load 750 Ω.
- Current Sink: Range 0 to 21.5 mA, supply 10 to 30 Vdc, voltage effect 0.2 µA/V.
- Voltage Output: 0 to 10.1 V or -10.1 to 10.1 V with ± 2 mA current drive and min load 5000 Ω @ 10 V.
User Interface & Configuration
- Calibration: Supports (2 to 6) points signal against process scaling, including active calibration against live load cell and remote set tare offset with programmable user set point.
- Front Panel: Independent “Low” and “High” push buttons allow manual setting of low and high output points. LED indication shows green when output is -0.1 to 100.1%, red otherwise.
- Digital Interface: USB 2.0 at 19,200 baud for PC running Windows XP or later; supports process units (4 characters) and tag number (20 characters).
Power & Electrical Connections
- Supply: 10 to 48 Vdc, 10 to 32 Vac protected by internal 500 mA resettable fuse; power consumption < 1 W full power.
- Isolation: Supply to input to output 500 Vdc.
- Tare Input: Remote volt free contact, up to 10 meter distance.
- Terminals: Screw terminals accepting wire size maximum 2.5 mm (0.10").
Key Product Differences
The TXDIN1600S is a single model family designated as the DIN-rail mount load-cell transmitter. If configuration is not specified at the time of order, the product ships with default settings: 2 mV/V input and 4 to 20 mA output range.

We have a TXDIN1600S, which we are having issues with getting USB Speedlink to work with, we have been trying to get support on this issue for quite a while now, have tried multiple contact, including pressure@omega.com, really need some support now.
Thank you for your inquiry.
Sorry for your issue, will have a engineer reach out to to by email to discuss how to rectify this.

How to tell which load cells are compatible with the TXDIN1600S load cell transmitter? are they all compatible, or only some of them?
The TXDIN1600S will function with any full bridge load cell that has a mV/V sensitivity range of 0.2 to 7.5 mV/V. All of our load cells that do not already have built-in signal conditioning have mV/V sensitivities that fall within this range. Please note that even though the TXDIN1600S is a load cell excitation that is fixed a 5 VDC it will still work with load cell that indicate 10 VDC as their nominal excitation

I've ordered the TXDIN1600s to couple it with the load cell PXM600MU-14BARGV and with the OMB-DAQ-2416. Unfortunately ihe TXDIN doesn't get recognized by the USB Speedlink software that comes with it so I can't set them up. What should I do?
