Supported Applications

The Omega I-7561 Series is a DIN-rail mountable serial converter designed to transfer data between USB interfaces and RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485 protocols. It enables the connection of legacy serial devices to systems utilizing a USB interface.

The series supports high-speed transmission up to 115.2 kbps and includes an internal Self-Tuner ASIC for auto-tuning baud rate and data format on RS-485 networks. The device is configured for industrial environments requiring isolated communication links, offering 3000 VDC isolation protection on the serial side.

Operating Conditions & Performance

The I-7561 Series operates within an ambient temperature range of -25 °C ~ +75 °C and a storage temperature range of -30 °C ~ +75 °C. Humidity ratings are specified as 10 ~ 90% RH, non-condensing.

Performance specifications include:

• Baud Rate Support: 300 ~ 115200 bps
• RS-485 Transfer Distance: Max. 1,200 m at 9.6 kbps; Max. 400 m at 115.2 kbps
• Maximum Supported RS-485 Devices: 256 (Without repeater)
• Power Consumption: 0.5 W, supplied via +5 VDC from USB

The unit features ESD protection for the RS-232/422/485 data line and utilizes fire retardant materials meeting UL94-V0 Level standards.

Configuration Options

The series is available in specific model configurations with distinct housing colors. The I-7561 CR provides the standard converter, while the I-7561-G CR offers a gray cover option; both are RoHS compliant and include one CA-USB18 (1.8 m) cable.

The series supports various operating systems independent of the RS-232/422/485 port configuration. Note that RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 cannot be used simultaneously.
