Supported Applications
The Omega DRC-4710/4720 series comprises DIN Rail Mount Bridge Input Signal Conditioners designed for bridge input applications, specifically load cells and strain gages. These self-contained DC-powered modules also support voltage input configurations. The units feature a precision instrumentation amplifier with filtered output to condition signals from these sensing elements.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The series operates within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 55°C (32 to 131°F) and supports storage temperatures from -40 to 80°C (-40 to 176°F). Input ranges are dip switch selectable at 0 to 10 mV, 0 to 20 mV, or 0 to 30 mV. The modules provide a linearity of ±0.01% and an input offset voltage of ±70 μV with a temperature coefficient of 0.7 μV/°C.
Performance specifications include a common mode rejection (DC) of 100 dB, an input noise typical value of 0.3 μV pp (0.1 to 10 Hz), and a frequency response of DC to 10 Hz Total RMS via a 2-pole filter. The built-in bridge excitation supply provides a fixed output of 10V ±1.0% with a maximum load current of 30 mA.
Configuration Options
The series is available in two primary models distinguished by their output signal types:
- DRC-4710: Provides a 0 to 10 Vdc output with a maximum load current of 5 mA.
- DRC-4720: Provides a 4 to 20 mA output. This model supports a loop resistance up to 250 Ω max and has a compliance voltage limit of 5.5V max.
All models utilize screw terminal blocks for electrical connections and include external zero (up to 20% max output) and span adjustment potentiometers. The physical dimensions are 96 H x 27 W x 42 mm D (3.78 x 1.06 x 1.65") with a weight of 85 g (3 oz).
Power requirements for the series are 18 to 26 Vdc. Input current consumption varies by model and bridge load: 40 mA for DRC-4710 or 55 mA for DRC-4720 when driving one 350 Ω Bridge.
Key Product Differences
The primary distinction between the two models is the output signal format. The DRC-4710 outputs a voltage signal (0 to 10 Vdc), while the DRC-4720 outputs a current loop signal (4 to 20 mA). Both share identical input ranges, excitation supply specifications, and physical housing dimensions.
Optional accessories include the IDRN-PS-1000 switching power supply (95 to 240 Vac Input, 24 Vdc output @ 850 mA) and DIN rail mounting hardware in two lengths: RAIL-35-1 (1 m / 3.3') or RAIL-35-2 (2 m / 6.6').

Good conditioners - work well
We have several instruments that came with Weidmuller conditioners, but they were not stable... drifted up and down over time. I replaced them with these Omega conditioners and we've had no further issues. Rock solid and work well. My only copmplaint would be that the terminal blocks are on the tiny side, and different front to back. I had to dig around to find a screwdriver small enough to fit the block.

Wrong Item - Hard to Return
This load cell amplifier was recommended for the 120 Ohm load cells. However, it can only drive 300 Ohm load cells. I'm working on returning it, but Omega is dragging their feet.

Simple, easy to use
Simple product, straightforward and easy to use. I was able to implement this product very quickly right out of the box. We consistently use them for taking load cell measurements and have never had any problems.
