Supported Applications
The Dwyer Series TS2 Digital Temperature Switch is designed to monitor and control temperature in heating and cooling applications. The unit features twelve programmable functions, including set point regulation, differential settings, defrosting time management, and fault cycle timing, allowing customization for specific OEM requirements.
Operating Conditions & Performance
The Series TS2 operates with a probe range of -58 to 302°F (-50° to 150°C). The device utilizes a PTC input (1000 Ω @ 25°C) and provides an accuracy of ±1% FS. Ambient operating temperature limits are specified as 32 to 158°F (0 to 70°C), with storage temperatures ranging from -4 to 176°F (-20° to 80°C). The front panel carries an IP64 rating.
Performance parameters include a resolution of 1°, nonvolatile memory backup, and control via on/off logic. For heating control, the output turns OFF when temperature exceeds the set point (SP) and ON when it drops below SP minus the differential (r0). In cooling mode, the output is OFF when temperature is less than SP and activates when it rises above SP plus r0.
Configuration Options
The series supports multiple power supply configurations to accommodate different installation environments. Available outputs include a 16 A SPDT relay rated at 250 VAC resistive or 5 A inductive, capable of driving motors, compressors, or fans up to 1 HP.
Power and Display Options
- Supply Power: Models are available for 115 VAC, 230 VAC, 12 VAC/VDC, or 24 VAC/VDC depending on the specific model code.
- Display Units: Configurable to display temperature in °F or °C based on the selected variant (e.g., TS2-010 for 115 VAC/°F; TS2-041 for 24 VAC/VDC/°C).
- Housing Dimensions: Panel cutout dimensions are 2-51/64" x 1-9/64" (71 mm x 29 mm). Overall unit dimensions measure 3.000" width, 1.338" height, and 2.375" depth.
Programmable Parameters
The controller includes parameters for defrosting cycles (d2: minutes remaining; d8: interval between defrostings in hours) and fault handling (c2/c3: ON/OFF times during probe error). Additional configuration options include ambient probe calibration offsets (P1), decimal point display control (P4), access codes (H5), and selection of the ambient probe type as NTC or PTC (H6).
Key Product Differences
Variants within the Series TS2 are distinguished by their supply voltage requirements and temperature unit preference. The model chart defines specific part numbers for each combination:
- TS2-010 / TS2-011: 115 VAC power; available in °F or °C.
- TS2-020: 230 VAC power (°F).
- TS2-030 / TS2-040 / TS2-041: Low voltage options at 12 VAC/VDC or 24 VAC/VDC, with unit selection available for the 24V models.
The series complies with CE and cURus certifications. A configuration key is required to access parameter menus (sold separately). The device weighs 2.3 oz (65 g) and requires installation by authorized professionals in locations free of vibrations, impacts, water, and corrosive gases.
